famicommander
I just scored a Sony PVM-14M2MDU. It's a 14 inch color RGB CRT monitor. I have to wait for it to get here from eBay, but $80 shipped is a pretty good price as far as I can tell. I've been scouring Craigslist for years and always miss out, but not this time. I can now get rid of my CRT SDTV. It has: RGB via BNC S-Video Composite via BNC So of course I bought a SCART to BNC cable, and some SCART cables for my Master System/Genesis and Super Nintendo. I will also be getting RGB cables for the Dreamcast, Saturn, PS2, Xbox, Jaguar, and all the other systems I have that will output it. I'll be getting some RCA->BNC adapters and running all my systems through it. The ones that output RGB will obviously go to the RGB inputs. The ones that ouput S-Video at best will go into an S-Video switch. The ones that output composite at best will go through a composite switch. And the oldschool ones will all run into a daisy chain through the VCR's RF input, then pushed out from there into the composite switch into the monitor. The monitor has mono sound, but I'll be running it all through my Sony HST-211 stereo system with the aid of my RCA switches. If everything goes the way I want it to, I will eventually have all of these systems hooked up through the best available video connection: Atari 5200, 7800, XEGS, Jaguar, Jaguar CD NES, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube w/Game Boy Player, Wii SEGA Master System, Genesis w/32X and CD, Saturn, Dreamcast PS2, Xbox, Turbograx-16, CD-i, 3DO, Colecovision, Intellivision, Odyssey 2, Neo Geo CD The PS1 and 2600 aren't hooked up because of backwards compatibility. The Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360 are in the living room hooked up to the plasma. Eventually I want to mod all the systems that are capable of doing so to output RGB, and the ones that only output RF up to composite or S-Video.
