Zen Pinball 2

I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but Zen Pinball 2 is available on the XBOX One. I stumbled upon it in the Live store last night and went ahead and downloaded it. Fortunately, any table that is available in it that you have already purchased via the 360 version can be re-downloaded on the One at no extra cost, assuming you are using the same Live account. Unfortunately, not all of the old tables are available here (for instance, Plants Vs. Zombies and one of the Zen Pinball four-table classic packs is nowhere to be seen), but I was able to download quite a few at no charge. The high score tables, leaderboards and achievements in the One version of Zen Pinball 2 are separate from the leaderboards, high scores and achievements of the 360 version. You effectively have to start fresh again, but you can get a new set of achievements for it if you're into that sort of thing. Visually the game appears to be identical to the 360 version, I can't really tell a difference. The interface is new though so it at least has a fresh coat of paint in that regard. Definitely worth grabbing, especially if you already owned the 360 versions. It's nice playing them on the XBOX One with the XBOX One controller.

Got this a couple months ago. About 15 of my previously bought tables transferred over, and a few weeks later about 5 more showed up, so there might be more on the way.

The graphics are a bit sharper and it's just as fun as it ever was.

It was a no brainer for me to download this. It looks better, has new achievements and it's completely FREE! (New tables are still $2.99)

Something really stood out to me when I was playing the Mars table last night. It felt like the visuals were slightly different and improved, but I couldn't put my finger on just what it was exactly. I'll have to boot up the 360 one and flip over to the XBOX One version to see if I'm imagining things or if there really is an improvement.

All right, I just compared the two side by side, and wow, there is a huge difference between the versions. The 360 one runs at a noticeably lower resolution, textures aren't nearly as sharp and everything looks darker. I don't think I will ever be playing this on my 360 again. :D

Yes I felt the same way. Playing the tables, even though I know I've played them dozens of times, felt new to me.

Was really shocked at how much fun I had going for achievements and building my wizard score up again.

I really want the Guardians of the Galaxy table.

They did a good job, these are the only games I actually play in 3D....I rarely do it though (too lazy to wear the glasses) but when I do they look even more amazing. It's like your there playing the tables.

Wha!? I didn't even know that was an option! Where do you set it to 3D?

Hmm, I'm playing this on PS4 so maybe its only on that system.....I tried googling but I couldn't find any specs that say if 3D is supported.

Do you have a 3D TV? It should just ask you when you click to load the game. It's the first thing that it asks before you get into your table selection.

I did a similar side-by-side check with the Wii U and XBOX One versions of the Mars table. The Wii U one seems to sit just a tad bit above the XBOX 360 version with a slightly higher resolution, but the XBOX One version beats out the Wii U version with much sharper textures, more detailed objects and slightly altered viewing angles. I think the resolution is a step higher as well as everything just looks sharper (in a nice, smooth kind of way, not a jaggy way). It looks like the XBOX One and (I assume) the PS4 versions are the definitive ways to play Zen Pinball 2 now.

Yea, I just stumbled upon the console option to turn 3D content on a couple of nights ago. I hadn't realized that Microsoft had rolled that into one of their updates. I'm pretty excited that I now don't have to lament moving our 3D Blu-Ray player downstairs (I was getting 'real estate' constrained). But when I saw your post cimerians I was thinking that maybe the pinball option to display in 3D was only shown if you had it set at the console level.....no dice. I don't see it either.
