I don't recall if they were specific to any system when I bought them way back when, but they work fine with every system I've tried them with. They work great for Atari 2600/7800, and fine for the ColecoVision stick and button controls. But they fail to transmit the keypad signals from the CV controllers. It's good to know that there are some other extension cables that do work properly on the CV! Some are missing a wire or more. You can usually tell by looking at the female end and seeing differences between some of the pins.
