InfernalKeith
Not that the game itself is any great shakes, but does the weird, disjointed theme song for Chicken Coop make anyone else's head hurt? Is it just me?
+OLD CS1
Hen Pecked drives me batty. Too loud, too.
whicker
Yes. And in hindsight I think the TI-99's title screen beep at maximum volume (no attenuation) sets the stage for everything else being super-loud. Most interesting musical idea was Blasto, if only the song wouldn't keep starting over from the beginning... it's like the explosions are interrupting the orchestra and the conductor takes them back to the start of the page. +mizapf
One of the most annoying songs in my ears is the background music of Burger Time which repeats after every 10 seconds *plus* is interrupted by any action on the screen, starting da capo.
InfernalKeith
As long as we're talking theme songs, one of my favorites is the piece of classical music that accompanies the game "Cerberus." It's kinda classy but with enough weird, off key flourishes to really create an atmosphere. I don't think that game would be as fun without it. I'm a huge fan of mid-80s computer game music, it's one of my favorite things about the Commodore 64. Who knew back then that one day I could be programming in XB on an emulator, with another browser window open to a one-hour megamix of SID chip game themes.... The actual arcade game was repetitive, however it was continuous. This is a huge issue with me, that and Blasto as mentioned in a previous post. I would love to hack the Burger Time code to NOT restart the background music. But that will take quite a bit more skill than I possess at this time.
