+atari2600land
I don't know why, but the PS1 game I'm making runs a lot faster on PSXeven than on ePSXe. Which PS1 emulator should I use? Which is the closest to the real thing?
Rybags
ePSXe is well regarded as the best free PS1 emulator. There's settings that might alter emulation speed, PAL/NTSC being just one of them. You could try VGS but it was commercial and discontinued so maybe not so easy to get hold of.
+atari2600land
I tried running it in PAL in ePSXe, but it was still slow. Here is a link to my game I'm making. What I'm having trouble doing is determining how fast the bird's wings flap. http://www.atari2600land.com/jackandthebeanstalk/
mbd30
Those Playstation emulators aren't that accurate. They're designed to play commercial games at decent speed on underpowered hardware, and are full of game-specific hacks and such for that purpose. Your homebrew most likely won't run on an emulator like it would on real hardware.
Kr0tki
atari2600land: Mednafen is an emulator that focuses on emulation accuracy. You should try it out.
+atari2600land
How do I get this stupid Mednafen program to work with PSX files?!
Kr0tki
What's a PSX file? And where are the details of your problem? Steps-to-reproduce? Error messages?
+atari2600land
It's an .exe file type. I just want to know what to type in DOS to make it work.
Kr0tki
Ah. Well, I've never run PS-EXE files in Mednafen. Try asking on their forums. Maybe you'll have to place the file on an ISO image first. Edited December 18, 2014 by Kr0tki
