AtariLeaf
I have a unit sans power supply and since I don't have batteries at the moment was wondering if a standard 2600 power supply will work.
jaybird3rd
I have a C-380, too, and it is compatible with a standard 2600 power supply (9V, 500mA).
AtariLeaf
Ok so if I can get some help please, I'd appreciate it. I got this C-380 at a local game store for basically a bit of extra store credit. I did this because I was told it's non-working so I knew that going in, hoping it would be an easy fix. When I try to power it on I get the screen shot below - graphic garbage and I have to hold down the power switch to get that. The second picture is the underside of the board at the power switch. The red line points to what looks like solder missing from one of the four points. Could this missing solder be the problem or is there something else to consider? PS - I have no soldering equipment and zero skills with soldering.
chas10e
opened up my C-380 to look .... yeah the hole there on mine is the pin for the switch & is filled same as the 3 other switches (reset, select & option) the on/off switch is maintained contact & 3 others are momentary, big ball serve switch is also momentary contact hopefully filling that hole will get proper voltage to rest of unit can always check with a volt-meter wiggling switch 6 batteries x 1.5v = 9volts (atari 2600 adapter is what I use on mine as well) I needed to clean the inside of the paddle knob on mine (jittery paddle) simply working it back & forth a goon number of times may make it jitter free also cleaned around outside of square buttons & inside square holes they sit in ...especially for the big ball serve with a cotton swab dampened with wd-

It confirms what I suspected so hopefully a little solder will solve this problem. Fingers crossed
