Rick Dangerous
I picked this up today. After initially scoffing at the very idea, I realized that this was a sub level my girlfriend could consistently play and be good at in SMB3D World. The problem is with most games I play with her, we start off okay, but then as things get hard they go quickly downhill and videogames can become a source of "relationship tension" between us. I'm thinking this will be a really good one for her, and for me, and despite recent complaints should be a good one to use the control pad with as well. Anyone else pick it up yet and give it a go? I will report back on it in the next few days.
Rick Dangerous
The most fun pick up and play game I've bought this year. Highly recommend it. It's actually a very relaxing experience and it's an interesting puzzle/platformer mix. Fun for experienced gamers but playable for girlfriends and kiddies as well. Looking forward to seeing what other people think of it.
glazball
I've been curious about it, but haven't really gone out of my way to read up on it either. Nintendo is not known for putting out crap, so I was planning on getting it sooner or later but if it's as fun as you say, maybe sooner. Tempest
Did they fix the controls so the Wii U Pad isn't used as a motion control? In SM3DW I was always accidentally moving the screen around when I wiggled the pad.
Austin
In SM3DW I was always accidentally moving the screen around when I wiggled the pad. Is that something that actually happens in that game? If so, I had no idea. I've never had it happen to me.
Tempest
I think the SM3DW version responded to tilting the pad. I seem to remember that anyway. I always triggered it when I move it to blow into it (I hated doing that).
Rick Dangerous
The pad tilts in this game as well, and IGN marked it off points for that under "controls". I personally don't even notice it. The gamepad is resting on my lap and I use the analog sticks to rotate the world on the two axis. Played some more last night, still really enjoying it. A good game to chill with rather than get stressed out over. If you have SuperMario 3D World it unlocks another part of the game where you play SM3DW levels as toad, finding extra green starts for that game (one per level) which is fun. It's cool to see all the levels with little ladders added for toad.
+atari2600land
I got this game for Christmas. It certainly takes some getting used to, though, not being able to jump. And it's kinda hard, too, I lost my first life on level 2. And while replaying it, I lost Toad! I was trying to find him, and it turns out he found his way back to the beginning of the level! I just completed level 3 when I decided I should put this away before I started yelling at it and waking people up. I actually did yell at the other Wii-U game I got, NES Remix Pack. But that's another story...
Rick Dangerous
I'm about 2/3rds of the way through this now. Fully beat chapters 1&2 with all challenges and whats available in the bonus area. Anyone else get this and having fun with it? I still think it's a blast but my fiance is having trouble playing now that the difficulty is ramping up Still one of my recent favs.
Amstari
Getting this tomorrow because it isn't released here until tomorrow. Got it on pre-order. Already know I'm going to like it because I enjoyed those parts on Super Mario 3D World.
TheGreatPW
Anyone beaten this yet? My son showed me the end credits and claims he beat it in under 2 1/2 hours on his very first time playing it?! I'm too lazy to play it or figure out without consulting with fellow Atari lovers on here first since there's already a thread on this game. Is the game really this short or is my son a Captain Toad playing Superstar?

Is the game really this short or is my son a Captain Toad playing Superstar? The credits play after beating the first (of three) chapters. So he's likely about a quarter of the way through the game. There are bonuses to complete for each stage as well as a bonus world. Also the last chapter is longer than the first two. You should give it a whirl this game has the simplicity and fun factor that old school Atari lovers can appreciate.
