koolaidpickle
Hello, If I have an Atari 2600 (does it matter which version?) and I want to be able to download all the Atari games and put them onto a cart to play, would the used Harmony cartridge suffice? I want to get the cheapest version and I dont mind if its used. Also, do I need anything additional, eg. a memory card? If so, which type of card do I need? And finally, how long does it take usually to get the package in the mail if you are in the south, in USA? maiki
If you mean all Atari 2600 games ever released except for that one homebrew game written in Basic (which is definitely not a must-have) than standard Harmony is just enough. Also the cheapest SD or micro-SD (depends on the version of the cart) is more than enough. I personally ordered standard Harmony October 2013 and I have no plans to swap it for Encore. Simply there are no games that would persuade me to do that. And there's no Boulder Dash ROM available for download and perhaps will never be. There you have it. edladdin
I understand the Harmony cart is only for 2600 games, but does the Harmony cart work ok to play those games through the 7800 console? TIA!
Thomas Jentzsch
Yes.
BrianC
Harmony cart works with 7800, but some games on it may have issues. I have a couple 7800s that work with Robot Tank, so it varies depending on the system, though. Edited December 18, 2014 by BrianC

Bumzyman
Are there any pictures of the Harmony cart's posted online? I couldn't find any here or via google search .
RangerG
I have the original Harmony (early one). It's great. Is there a list anywhere of games that I would be able to add if I upgraded to the Encore? I'm on the fence about the upgrade, but if there are some good games I'm missing out on or potential games that are in the pipe line, then I may go for it. Thanks. edladdin
Are there any pictures of the Harmony cart's posted online? I couldn't find any here or via google search . Here ya go! The SD card is the one that came with the Deluxe version. They promised 2GB, actually delivered 8GB. Not shown is the manual and USB cable.

edladdin
Here are some photos of the file structure through the cart when also loaded with ROM Hunter's unbelievable file sets. Amazing work and thoroughness, so having every 2600 game ever made on your Harmony Cart is a matter of dragging and dropping. Note the path to the games published by Starpath, including Phaser Patrol - a game I played endlessly in the heart of my 2600 era. Haven't played that game at all in nearly 30 years and there it is thanks to the Harmony Cart and ROM Hunter. If you had told the 13 year old Edladdin that such a thing would ever be possible I wouldn't have believed it. I'm still amazed now.
deadone
Ok, here goes this is MY VERY FIRST POST, so lets see if I can make it a good one. I'm thinking of buying a Harmony cart..( ENCORE ) edition since it's been said, that it will play/hold all the homebrews/hacks/downloaded games. my questions are...... 1. Once you buy the cart do you have to pay $ for the roms? it seems they're free here at .....http://www.atarimania.com/rom_collection_archive_atari_2600_roms.html 2. I tried downloading these roms but I cannot "open" them for some reason. (or is it, that I need the cart first with a s/d card...and to download the firmware ect. in order to play them? 3. Is it easy to " download the games" alphabetize them, and are there any Atari 2600 COMPLETE library downloads out there? 4. as most people would say I'm a very big noob who is not very computer savy and am wondering if I buy the cart, that it wouldn't be worth it because you need to have a working knowledge of downloading/transfering/ and renaming files which I'm sad to say I cannot do. 5. If I could get the same library download as this guy........https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDwVo5j8gOA that would be awesome! THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP.
