R.Cade
My not-so-young pre-teen was playing H.E.R.O. with me and made an interesting observation. He said "why does the lady at the end of the level always have a baby when you get there?" Watch the graphics at the end of the level - it could be interpreted that you are saving a pregnant lady and she has a baby at the end. Unbeliever
My moments involve when you show a "youngster" a game, you play for a few minutes, and they give you a sideways glance like you've gone completely mental. Priceless!
Master Phruby
Best part is when you completely slaughter them in a game without even looking at the screen.

karokoenig
Not exactly funny as in "funny", but it definetly made me raise an eyebrow: My nephew, now 18, who barely realized there are game consoles before the PS2, once said while we were playing Jungle Hunt: "Nice graphics"
Rodrigo
...And they yell at you! You're cheating! Same thing with my nephews (12 and 13). They say "it's not fair, you play these games since you were a kid". And I always mock them about their Xbox360 loading times...
imstarryeyed
Ha ha I noticed with casual games like angry birds and flappy bird we have come full circle. Games and kids are all about a game doing just one thing like space invaders did one thing or asteroids. I was wondering when we were going to circle back. I am surprised how many kids want to play Atari now when they come into my stores. It really is a great thing to see parents and kids passing retro together.
Mountain King
A typical conversation my daughter who is 8 has with her friends about video games. She acts like Atari is a common thing. "We play Mincraft, Plants vs Zombies and Destiny on Xbox One" "You have an Xbox One? Cool!" "Yeah and we play Adventure, Go Fish and Toyshop Trouble on Atari." "What's an Atari?" "You don't know what an Atari is?"
mzeroxx69
Showed my two daughters some Atari games a few years back... Definitely a Atari Family moment!!
MAC-42
A typical conversation my daughter who is 8 has with her friends about video games. She acts like Atari is a common thing. Yeah, apparently, my elder daughter has been talking to her friends at school about Ataris. She reports that, surprise, "none of them know what that is." A couple years back for her birthday, I set up every Atari and NES in the house in one room and left them on for her and her friends to play at their leisure. It was like watching Borg walking past unassimilated humans, treating them as if they didn't exist. My daughter does like to play the games with me though. AceAtari
Just show them the Atari when they are very young, they'll think that's all the gaming industry has to offer. Worked with my kid.
Master Phruby
Kids have come full circle because so many games on the latest gen systems are rated m and they take hours to play without developing any skills. On Atari you can play in ten minutes and develop skills at the game and don't have to listen to curse words and watch graphic violence. awhite2600
My son is 19 now. I introduced him to "Daddy's Games" when he was about 2 or 3. Today he will play everything from the 2600 to the PS4 - and enjoy them all. He even volunteers with me at The Personal Computer Museum where he can talk to visitors all about the classics.
themushroom
In a few days I will give my sister an Atari 2600 six-switch and about thirty games. (Her Xmas wish!) She has three kids, aged 3 to 12, and I look forward to seeing how they react to having a circa-1978 machine with a box of 1977-1987 games in front of them. karokoenig
My son said something simpler like "What is that block supposed to be"? If we're honest to ourselves... so did we quite often back in the days.
Unbeliever
That's true. But our imagination soared...since we didn't have the realistic graphics of today's games. We HAD to use our imaginations to picture much more than what was on the screen.

Judging by the image onscreen in that first picture, there must be another videogame system plugged into that television, ya dig?
