Atariboy
Could someone please recommend an individual or small business that does repair work on classic consoles and handhelds? I'd like to get this handheld going again. It's one of the last that they produced (I believe that I bought it new in December 2007) and has seen very little use since. I doubt it has seen more than 100 hours on it. It randomly shuts down during use and frequently will also shut itself back down immediately upon startup, forcing a re-cycle on the power switch to get it going. It doesn't seem to be a bad battery since this also happens when plugged into a charger that I know is good. It also has had at least one incident where the battery light indicator went to red and then showed that charging was complete just seconds after being plugged into the charger. Not sure what to do with it. I think at minimum that the power switch needs cleaning or replacement. Not a clue about the battery deal, but I'd like to think that it's related to the power switch. TPA5
I'm not aware of any businesses per-say that do repairs for the GBA anymore. You might have some luck asking around at NintendoAge, but then again finding someone reputable can be a challenge. What about grabbing an AGS-101 from eBay and using the main board from that to replace the one in yours?
