Savetz
In July I filed a freedom of information act request with the FBI, asking for files relating to the Coleco toy company. I was hoping for something interesting about Colecovision or ADAM. Instead, I got 227 pages about the theft of 890 Smurf Power Cycles from a truck stop in Virginia. They didn't have any files about ColecoVision or ADAM. The full text of my request and their 227-page reply is here: https://archive.org/details/Coleco_FBI_FOIA_Request_Response --Kevin
fiddlepaddle
Must not be any political value left in sheilding perpetrators of The Great Smurf Power Cycles Caper.
phattyboombatty
Maybe if you'd requested docs from "Coleco Electronics", you'd have gotten different results? I'm not certain about that, but this might have been a different subsidiary/money pot from other Coleco holdings.
NIAD
Very good point about using "Coleco Electronics" and it would be very interesting to see if something turned up. I don't recall off-hand and may be wrong, but seems to be that Coleco didn't start using "Coleco Electronics" until sometime in early 1984... as far as the ColecoVision and ADAM. +Yurkie
Wouldn't one want to request info on "Connecticut Leather Company"? To me Coleco would be to Connecticut Leather Company, what Quarter Pounder is to McDonald's
