atrax27407
I have two of these things (bargain basement types), a KONGIN KC-262A and a POWER PR-828A. Any of you guys have an idea of how long it should take to charge a AA or AAA battery? I used to leave them in the Horizon with the PEB turned on overnight in the "old days" to initially charge them. They are supposed to have a bi-color LED but I'm not sure it is working. I don't know if the initial batch of batteries was bad or the charger isn't working. The red charge indicator light works, though.
atrax27407
The output for the KONGIN KC-262A is as follows: 2.4V 150mA AA, 2.4V 80mA AAA, 9.0V 21mA 9V
atrax27407
The specs for the POWER PR-828A are: DC2.8V1150mA(AA)x2 575mA(AA)x4 480mA(AAA)x2 Any idea how lon either should take?
+Ksarul
Not that the capacity of the battery being charged is also important when determining charge time. I wouldn't expect either one to take more than 18 hours to charge a high-capacity battery though (2500mA or so), and that would be worst case. . . atrax27407
The batteries are 3000mA. So I guess about 24 hours. Right?
+Ksarul
That would be a good worst-case estimate.
atrax27407
Alas, I got the Ni-Mh batteries properly charged but have now discovered a bad contact in the battery circuit. I'll have to repair/repace the holders on my pseudo-Horizon. The seller responded that is usually takes 8-10 hours on the first go and 6-8 subsequently. Oh yeas, the charging LEDs don't always go out when the batteries are fully charged but there is overcharge protection so it shouldn't matter.
