Dave S.
Hello, I'm a neophyte to the Atari 2600 having not played it since I was 8 or 9 years old. This is my first post here after lurking and researching for the past several weeks. I bought my family a Sears Tele-Games Video Arcade "Heavy Sixer" for a holiday gift and have been steadily purchasing games from various sources. I recently purchased the game "Tomcat the F-14 Fighter Simulator" only to discover that it is a mislabeled version (indicates for use with the 2600, but has the 7800 circuit board). While I can't use this game with my console, I got to wondering if having a mislabeled cartridge makes it more valuable? Less valuable? The same? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you! +FujiSkunk
Yep, the value is about the same. Both the 7800 and 2600 versions are about as common as each other, and this particular mislabel is also fairly common, at least as far as mislabels go. I have one as well. Cobra Commander
The best thing about Atari is that nearly everything is easy to find and is fairly cheap. Aside from a few dozen uber rare games a nice collection can be had by anyone. The market place here is awesome, lots of cool people with realistic prices.
