+xucaen
I just received upgraded paddles from Best Electronics. These paddles are the best I have ever used! If you were on the fence about buying them rest assured they are worth it!
jaybird3rd
I agree! The new paddle pots that Best offers are a tremendous improvement. I've upgraded quite a few of my paddles with them, and I have yet to experience "jitter".
tremoloman2006
Did you order upgrade kits and install these yourself or does Best Electronics offer them pre-modded? Glad to hear they are working out for you! Best regards, Trem

WolfAmongWolves
Thanks for the tip. I've lost track of how many times I've cleaned my paddles - the jitter always seems to return after a few weeks or months. Let me know if the modded paddles are still jitter-free in a few months and I'll brave BE's chaotic website to buy a pair.

If you were on the fence about buying them rest assured they are worth it! Let us know in a few months if they are still working great. I hope they will but I bought a pair that were the best I ever used, and within a few months they were having trouble.
Greg2600
How do you know they are "upgraded" pots? There are methods to clean the originals to get rid of almost all jitter.
AtariBrian
Well they also sell the pots by themselves and you install them .
+xucaen
Best is currently sold out of their "super pots" but they had modded paddles using the super pots and sill have a few in stock. They are currently looking for a new supplier of pots. So, if you want "super pots" paddles, you have to buy the modded paddles before they sell out. I had cleaned my paddles three times in less than 6 months and the jitter never went away. These new modded paddles are better than any I have ever used. Tron Unit
They also offer "Gold" component modded 5200 controllers. I am very interested to hear if anyone had bought these if they are an improvement and worth the upgrade.
ubersaurus
I have 5200 controllers upgraded with the Best Electronics gear. They work amazing (for 5200), and have for years.

Thank you that's good to know. I might splurge and buy one of their refurbed controllers.
gilsaluki
I installed the Super Pots from Best Elec. They are great. I cannot believe the amount of stock that is NOT IN STOCK. Brad must be one busy mutha, cause he cannot keep up with demand. Time to hire some "undocumented immigrants". Obama says they can now come out of the shadows. Lentzquest
Another good alternative is the paddle controllers that Atgames is currently selling to go with the Flashback series. I picked up a set and it's wonderful to hold a newly manufactured pair of these things. The side buttons are nice and super clicky too. They're at atgames.us in the accessories section. They're pricey compared to old yard sale sets but still its nice to not have to crack them open for cleaning or repair.
gilsaluki
The atGames Paddles are good, just a bit stiff.

Lentzquest
They work with an original Atari. I don't even own a Flashback.
gilsaluki
atGames paddles look exactly like originals, and work on all Ataris (not Jags or Lynxes or Portfolios or ABCs or....) you get the point.
Imperious
Anyone who lives in Australia can fit these pots from Jaycar, but You will need to cut and file the shaft as the D shape is too long and too fat. http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=RP3524
