STOS V300 download page updated

For those still unaware STOS has been "fixed" it can be downloaded from my site here http://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/last/STOSFLOPPY/index.htm

Any programs compiled with the new V300 STOS setup will run on any TOS version without having to patch.

There is also a new STOS patcher to replace the older STOSFIX related programs.

My STOS pages were originally on atari.st site but later got dumped over to Atari Forum. Though in order to cut down on my workload in doing updates and losing things, I have decided just to maintain my own pages on one site.

My main site has moved from my idnet host in case anyone has got confused recently. I do keep posting, but please can people update their bookmarks to my new site home http://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/last/ as the idnet pages are no longer maintained.

Nice :)

Should have STOS Discovery Pack version of the manual up soon. It's hard to know where to draw the line between quality and download size though.

We are working on a new STOS page will all the games which were created with STOS, plus all the games which have source code. Plus all the extensions and any other source code I can find floating about. This includes all the source code from PDL's that I can find. My girlfriend is currently going though Marcer's games list and pulling out the STOS games, and taking screenshots of them. There is over 300 of those alone. Its a huge job, but getting there :)

I also fixed some of the source codes, mostly Zoltar, Orbit and a few others as they did not complier or had bugs. I *think* I put a change log in the zips with those files.

I hope to have the bulk of this up and online in a few days time. Then it will be up to you guys out there to spot any omissions or stuff which should be there but isn't etc.

Yeah, know what you mean. A few people did patches for the compiler but I never got them working 100%. It wasn't just that, but there was only space for 8 TOS tables in the STOS compiled programs so it was annoying. Though Petari fiddle that part of the compiler source and fixed it all. He was saying Lionet looked like he was redoing the compiler source code but couldn't work out how to automatically create the TOS tables. So there was actually a new compiler which never saw the light of day, just had bugs. Anyway, its a brand new fixed compiler now and hopefully will be future proof. I've tested a lot out in it and it seems to work great :) I've updated the STOS compiler ACB so it only uses V300 compiler sources now and fixed a few bugs in it also. Hopefully it will solve all those annoying patching problems.

Hopefully it will encourage new people onto programming in STOS. I really hope to start coding some stuff in it again. Must have been like 15 years since I last did any real coding in it. I have millions of unfinished projects. Though at the time, there was no internet to ask people for help with silly problems. So a lot of projects just got abandoned.

New website now up.

http://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/

There is a dedicated STOS section there now. I am still working on the site and adding stuff as fast as I can.

If anyone has anything which could go on a page then let me know.

STOSSER & MEGA DISKZINE will be going up later in the week, plus some other mags and book scans.

BTW - if anyone knows a good image to pdf program can you let me know. I tried loads of them off the net. ended up with 2 viruses also. Half the programs do not let you set the page order, they seem to just assume they are numbers from 1 - 300 or whatever. Half of them do the stupid trick of adding page 1, then page 10 kinda thing. So anything which does not let me set the order is pointless really. Also hardly any let you set pdf options like compression or anything. It just seems madness that there does not seem to be any programs which actually have any sort of what I would call, basic features :(

New STOS homepage up. I have uploaded pretty much everything I have. I have a few other bits to do like the Falcon version of STOS. I hope to get that up shortly. Though its hard for me to test as my Falcon is in bits. So if anyone can help test it then please let me know. I will spend some time on the falcon source code examples, Though I want to get back to my hardware mod after the weekend, but will do what I can meanwhile.
