JRPG's 2015

Heh, from the list the only thing that really has much chance of seeing my wallet is Persona 5 - and that's going to depend on what they do on the DLC. I'll be waiting a few months before buying it regardless since slow-drip DLC is the In Thing these days. ie: I can't judge at launch what the DLC situation is for a game to determine if I want to buy it or not because they don't release the DLC that's already done (unlock codes yo.) for weeks after launch.

For the other games he showed, I either don't have the system it's going to be on (Xenoblades/Bravely Second, etc) with low chances of picking up the system due to Nintendo being Nintendo. Or the games are pretty much going to be a DLC marathon like previous games in their series (I'm looking at you Disgaea and Hyperdimension. :P)

Ditto with Persona 5. I really liked the last one, and how it was less 'save the world,' and more of a nicely scoped murder mystery. PS3 version for me (as I currently don't own any current-gen systems) Not too interested in the rest. They either seem to action-y, or too disgaea-y.

I may also go for bravely second, but I won't be able to play the first one until next month when the new 3ds launches. For some illogical reason I've convinced myself that I want one of those.

Nice video though, outside of half of it being those neptunia games. Not interested in any more of that.

I'll probably pick up Persona 5, but only because of hype and not because of any great love of the Persona series. I have a bad feeling about this one, though. The series is riding high just like Final Fantasy was in the late 90s after Final Fantasy 6 and 7. A lot of the atmosphere around Persona 5 is reminding me of Final Fantasy 8, and that turned out to be complete shit and that's when Square descended into absolute craptitude never to recover.

I'm interested in Omega Quintet, Hyperdevotion Noire, and Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II, but not anywhere near enough to buy a console for them. There's that other dungeon crawler for the Vita whose name escapes me right now, but that's still less priority than Persona 4 Golden and Demon Gaze and those aren't even enough to make me drop the cash.

Hmmm. Even if I did have a Vita, I might skip Hyperdevotion Noire. Some of the gameplay clips I've seen make it look like a list of top things I dislike in latter era TRPGs.

I'm not interested in any of the other titles.

Atlus has consistently released quality games since the 90s...I'm not particularly worried. But then again, I am an old school Persona fan so for me the series hasn't been right since Eternal Punishment LOL

I really liked Persona Q though. As long as they keep the central concept of being able to summon Gods and Demons from actual mythology, the series will have some draw for me.

Persona 5 and Tales of Zestiria for me, and I won't need a PS 4 to play them. I am sure Tales will be okay, but with Persona 5, it seems to have taken forever to develop, and that is not always a good sign. I would have interest in Xenoblade Chronicles X, but I won't be getting a Wii U in this universe.

Final Fantasy XV...meh... No plans for getting a PS4, and I haven't really enjoyed a FF game since X. VIII, XII, XIII were utter crap.
