Bodyshots
I use 'OOPS!' Removes Dried Latex Paint, tar, lipstick, shoe polish, Ink, Magic Marker, oil, grease, etc
forrestsmith
I have had good luck using Mr. Clean Magic Erasers for such areas. You have to be carefull because some products on certain consoles seem to "Polish" the plastic in that area. Forrest
TaskenLander
Here's a close up pic of the scuff. It's the black mark on the 'G' in Sega. I acknowledge that this is very much an 'OCD type of problem', but something fell off my entertainment stand last night and struck my SG-1000 II and left this mark and its REALLY bugging me... I'd REALLY like to get rid of this as this is one of my rarest/most personal systems I own but I don't want to risk damaging the paint on the lettering. Ataritard
That's a bad spot. If you could find the right shade of permanent markers, you could color over the scuff...
TaskenLander
Yeah, I thought about that... Since it *is* so insignificant (assuming I just can't bring myself to leave it alone), I might just try mixing blue and white acrylic paints to create the 'perfect' shade? Or is this nuts -- a small spot of WD-40 on a Q-tip??
forrestsmith
That is a bad spot, Its bad its on the blue letters. I would try a Q tip with some water or very mild cleaner like Windex window cleaner. It make take some time that way but I think it would come off. I think anything you did like trying to paint over it would make it a lot worse. Forrest
+GoldenWheels
I've had good luck removing, well, just about everything on systems and carts with Clorox kitchen bleach wipes. Having some bleach in them they also tend to have a very subtle brightening affect without removing color from parts, etc. I get some people might gasp at that but it works for me. But I've never had to scrub a specific spot over a logo, etc, hard.
