Tempest
Since Club Nintendo is closing I want to use up all my coins. Unfortunately I don't have enough for the cool prizes, but I do have nearly enough for some downloads. I have two different accounts (long story) one at 380 coins and one at 490. The one at 380 is hooked into my Wii-U so I was able to download a few free games with post play surveys and should hit 400, but the one with 490 isn't hooked into anything so I can't download free games on that account. So my other option is to buy a cheap game and register it on that account for the 10 coins. My question is: What's the cheapest game I can buy that will get me those coins? Gamestop seems to indicate that it's Wii Fit, but I already own and registered that so that's not going to work. I'm open to suggestions. boog
In case you missed any of these, here's a recent list of free games & demos that will give coins: http://www.reddit.com/r/Club_Nintendo/comments/2uco1l/chart_documenting_free_eshop_games_that_grant/ Edited February 5, 2015 by boog
Tempest
Did those, but they're tied to my Wii-U account which is the one I got to 400 (I think anyway we'll see if those surveys ever come). It's the one at 490 that isn't tied to a system that I need the 10 coins for.
Austin
Tempest, I can't help with game recommendations, but I wanted to say that I am pretty sure Club Nintendo downloads are generic codes and can be redeemed on any system regardless of if or what Club Nintendo account is linked to it. Basically, I don't think it checks to make sure you have the proper Club Nintendo account linked when you redeem a download code. For instance, I created a separate CN account to use duplicate survey codes on, and I've used the resulting free download game codes I earned from that account on a spare Wii that has no Club Nintendo account linked. Just wanted to point that out in case you thought couldn't get all these games on the same system. Edited February 8, 2015 by Austin

Tempest
The problem is I need 10 coins to get to 500 so I can download two 250 coin games. Otherwise I guess I can forfeit the 40 coins and just get a 200 and 250 coin game. The account that needs the 10 coins isn't linked to my WII-U so I can download any of those free games that give a survey because those go to my other account. Meh, it's only 40 coins. I think I can deal. The downloadable games aren't that interesting anyway.
Atariboy
Didn't think this deserves creating a new thread just to ask, can someone confirm that no 3rd party published Wii retail software had Club Nintendo codes? That was my understanding, but I'm not sure if that ever changed at some point. Want to go through my collection soon since I know I have a few un-redeemed codes left and I'd just as assume not open every last case if I don't have to. Also as a side note, what DS games have codes that redeem points (I believe most DS codes just linked the game to your account and otherwise didn't do anything, GCN style)? I think the two Zelda's did, if I'm remembering correctly. If I happen end up with 10 coins I can't use since I don't have enough left to redeem to get anything further, I'll pass the code on to you, Tempest. Do you have Pikmin 2 for the Wii? I see that's worth 20 points and it's not been redeemed yet since I've yet to ever open it, so I'll save that for last if you don't already have a code for it tied to your account. tpugmire
Codes expire 4 years after release. Both of the Zelda games would give you points, but they have expired.
Tempest
I ended up getting two of those 3DS game binders. The game downloads weren't interesting since I have most of them on my everdrives anyway. I wanted something physical.
Atariboy
Codes expire 4 years after release. Both of the Zelda games would give you points, but they have expired. I think they say that to protect themselves, but I joined Club Nintendo less than a year ago (I never got around to pairing my Wii to Club Nintendo), and have successfully redeemed many a code that's older than 4 years old. Atariboy
I came across that before making my earlier post, but don't believe it's fully accurate. For example, it specifies the Nintendo Selects version of Twilight Princess where as I have points earned on my account from a code included with the standard edition, bought in conjunction with my Wii when both were a year old. And I have points earned from Metroid Prime Trilogy and Spirit Tracks, but don't see those ones listed as well. Also, the Club Nintendo pages shows the Wii as worth 100 points. Could someone tell me where exactly do I find that code, since I looked last year in my console box with all the paperwork inside that originally came with it, and couldn't find it? Is it the system's serial number, perhaps? Edited February 21, 2015 by Atariboy
Metal Ghost
Also, the Club Nintendo pages shows the Wii as worth 100 points. Could someone tell me where exactly do I find that code, since I looked last year in my console box with all the paperwork inside that originally came with it, and couldn't find it? Is it the system's serial number, perhaps? How old is your Wii? Original Wiis didn't come with codes and so you can't earn any coins. I'm not sure exactly when they started placing codes in with Wiis, but I believe it's listed on their website somewhere.
Atariboy
If so, it likely doesn't since it dates from a year after launch. The link Boog posted to Club Nintendo doesn't differentiate, although there's separate Wii and Wii Mini listings. https://club.nintendo.com/eligible-products.do Edited February 23, 2015 by Atariboy
