CLARIFICATION: No use of CHEATS, emulation advantages, bugs, cart frying or other variables that gives you an unfair advantage in this HSC. Please assume you have to follow the game difficulty and mode for the playing week/s. There cannot be any game enhancements or favorite settings to play in the 2600 HSC, unless you are given authorization to do so by your humble yet strict MODERATORS! Jacob/BAZ.

So, every time the top score is changed…. the magic number will be changed. Whoever is in first has the Magic Number.

The Final Magic Number will be the first digit on the left on the final top score.

MATCH THAT NUMBER in your score FOR MAX BONUS POINTS!

(Example: the final first place score for the week is 49550 and your score is 44400. You get +3 bonus points!)

Oh, man! I traditionally have viewed Coleco games on the VCS as the WORST... I have 271 carts (and counting) but only 5 of their 13 games, of which this is not one!

 

Hope I'm wrong, and this game is fun ;)

 

I don't think most of the Coleco games deserve their bad rap. Donkey Kong Jr. is unplayable and Zaxxon looks nothing like the arcade, but other than that their ports are in line with most of the ports on the VCS: not the arcade game but not bad considering. Mr. Do is good, I think you'll like it.

I like the Coleco games, although I never cared much for Carnival or Zaxxon. DK Jr. is actually fun for me :P It looks awful & in the end it's a little too easy I think, but I always enjoy playing. I like how fast he moves compared to the original.

I forgot that this game rolled at such low number and so quickly. I failed to get a BEFORE picture, but here are 3 AFTER shots, the highest score being my final score 116700. I can do it again if I need to, but there is no way to be on the screens I am on with scores that low.

 

Is that fair or should I do it again?

I am with StanJr, this is an excellent game. The 2600 version is in no way as fun as the Atari800 version that I am used to, but still a great game (the lack of being able to make nearby tunnels is making me have to change my strategy).

 

A preliminary score. I am pretty sure I can roll this one. I used to do that all the time on the Atari 800 version.
