S1500
Is this possible? Say you want to keep your 2600 expansion module plugged in, but want to play CV games, but are too lazy to pull it out. Can you disable 1 or 2 pins on the motherboard(or elsewhere) that would shut the expansion module off?

S1500
So you want disable the expansion module but keep it plugged in? Why? So if I'm in a mood for a CV game, I don't have to yank it out each time.
Tron Unit
By disabling it from the motherboard? Kind of self-defeats the purpose.
playazclub
I actually think it's a good question. It's been answered though in another thread although no one has tried it that I see. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/149407-colecovision-atari-module-switch/
fiddlepaddle
Someone did this a couple of years ago...there's a thread somewhere...reported as working by hooking a switch to the appropriate pin...

Wasn't that for the pause function...?

For a permanent solution, with a big switch, you'd need to be somewhat concerned with wire length and signal integrity. You don't want a lot of noise on the signals that are going to the switch. fiddlepaddle
Wasn't that for the pause function...? Oh...maybe. Now I'm not sure; I THOUGHT it was to allow the expansion unit to stay attached. Pretty sure whatever I read about it was posted before the dedicated Colecovision forum was established, though. (I'll wrack my brain about it for hours, but I'm not going to go searching for it... sorry.)

I'd like to do the same thing... I hate pulling that damn thing out each time...
S1500
Hmm, wonder what the pinout for the module says.
