+Schmitzi
Hi, what is the name of the book ?
+Ksarul
It was actually the tiny booklet that shipped with the Speech Synthesizer, Ralf. In addition to the general instructions for connecting the device, it also has a complete listing of the words in the built-in vocabulary. Omega-TI
ah, here we are ... suitable for printing as a reproduction. Thanks schmitzi, I knew about that one, but the quality is 'not quite there', if you know what I mean.
+Schmitzi
ah, OK, I just found that one, I will make a new scan from my one, if I find it, if you know what I mean .
Omega-TI
I will make a new scan from my one, if I find it... THAT would be great! I hope you find it. You know, a lot of the old manuals and booklets could benefit from some modern attention. Back it in the day they were copied by some well meaning people, but with the lousy technology of the day. Many of them look like 1970's era Xerox copies, because that was what was probably used! Memory storage space was limited back then too, so stuff was compressed to the point of being nearly useless. Now days memory is no longer an issue, the copying technology is top notch and speed of transfer is really no problem either, so size should no longer take priority of over quality.
+Schmitzi
Yes, I found it. As it is too big, you´ll find it right here (also with the additional scans in the subfolder): ftp://u67140205-atariage:TeXasTI994A@toxic-instruments.com/_DOCUMENTS.bak/PHP1500-Speech.bak/ I have only scanned the german parts, hope that is OK for you ? no, I haven´t
newTIboyRob
Ohm... did you try downloading schmitzi's original PDF post of that manual? I downloaded it fine, and the print out quality even from my piece of garbage HP Deskjet printer was more than decent....
+Schmitzi
yep /EDIT/ was 600 dpi /EDIT2/ ..and did you see the subfolder there, with the original scan-files (JPGs) ? this is for everybody, as my PDF-skills are not up-to-date Edited March 9, 2015 by schmitzi
Omega-TI
Speaking of books and scanning. I have these 4 boxed cartridges & cassette with their original books. I don't think there is much value in them, so I suppose I could slice the books up for scanning purposes if anyone thinks they would like a copy and a decent copy cannot be obtained anywhere else.
newTIboyRob
Ohm... another user offered to look for the original hard copy of the little Speech snyth book which he thought he might have and saw recently. I redirected him to you
Omega-TI
Thanks. Actually, I've been thinking of making a little cheat sheet similar to the reference cards, but just the vocabulary information.
Shift838
I found an original speech manual in very good condition. I will try to do a better scan to offer up with the scanners we have at work. Chris
+Lee Stewart
Thanks. Actually, I've been thinking of making a little cheat sheet similar to the reference cards, but just the vocabulary information. The speech synthesizer vocabulary is also listed in the Editor/Assembler Manual at “24.6 SPEECH SYNTHESIZER RESIDENT VOCABULARY”, pp. 422 – 427. ...lee
