ReddMcKnight
Hey all. I've tried fixing the down-direction on my CV Controller, but it outright refuses to work. Is there a mod or something that removes the metal plates on the Controller's Board in favor of something more reliable? EDIT: I can provide pictures of the interior of the Controller if need be. Tron Unit
I had the same problem. It's caused by a blown IC controller chip on the motherboard. Yurkie can fix it for you can send him a PM.
ReddMcKnight
Are you sure? If I start the game with the Number Pad (2nd Slot) but use a 2600 Controller (1st Slot), it works fine.
SiLic0ne t0aD
If that's the case, sounds like the IC is fine and just the (Down direction) dome contact has corrosion/oxidation or is possibly broken. Gribble101
Have you already cleaned the controller? I usually spray some DeoxIT (contact cleaner) under the metal plates and rock them up and down a few times and it clears them up.
ReddMcKnight
I wonder, why don't the CV Flashback Controllers work on a real CV?
Tron Unit
I wonder, why don't the CV Flashback Controllers work on a real CV? I don't think those are analog.
sega_SHARK
I don't think the original CV has analog controllers does it? It just has contacts underneath.
ReddMcKnight
In any case, I found this video on YouTube, but it seems to be lacking detailed instructions. How exactly would one do this?
Centurion
Hey Redd, I recently repaired 3 of my CV controllers with similar issues. If you aren't comfortable taking it apart and going to town, you can send it to me and I'll fix it for you. No charge.
