+therealbountybob
I played Robix with my friend yesterday and we forgot to play some two-player games. We'll have to give it a try after this round is over. I was able to finally got higher scores when I realized that I can just hold the button down to fire. Is this what you expert-players are doing? Great game in 2 player like Shadow World you start off working together then end up fighting - pushing each other off and jumping on their heads etc. (You can turn off the player overlap by typing INTERSECTION on the title screen) Yes definitely holding the button down to fire. This, in my opinion, makes the game nicer to play than some other shooters. What is really nice is that you can still pick off the shots too, (more or less, as you fall) to complete the waves. The instructions are worth a read as the game is well programmed and the controls are very good. Finally completed it! The game finishes after the 4th stage. Stage 1 best score 7057 Congratulations McKong seriously good effort Did the game end or continue into the Hard mode - have a bash on this bonus challenge if you want more Robix This round and the Round 5 POLL close Sunday morning Edited April 12, 2015 by therealbountybob
McKong
No it finished with the 'You have completed your mission' screen. It occurred to me to try starting from Stage 2 again as you would have to play 2,3,1,2,3,4 to complete the game!
McKong
Finally completed it! The game finishes after the 4th stage. Stage 1 best score 7057 Ok so it doesn't work like that. If you start on 2 you play 2, 3, 1 then 4 Anyway my score for starting on 2 6210 1775 starting on stage 1 on hard mode Think that may be it for me in this round. A really good game I'm glad it got chosen Edited April 10, 2015 by McKong

+therealbountybob
Stage 4 playing in two player mode with Fandal at Atariada in Olomouc, Czech Republic! While I lost my last life, big Fandal kept going and showed the ant who is the RULER here!! We are not worthy Nice work guys Congratulations to McKong for the win (this is a recorded message... this is a recorded message!) and to SHiNjide and JK40001 for making the top 3 slots. Robix plays very well and though not as intense as some of the other top A8 shooters, is a very good game with lots of nice touches. Particularly good fun in two player mode too. I also played it on my NTSC 800XL and it was perhaps even better being that little bit faster, so no excuses, check Robix out if you missed this round (and post a late score!) ballyalley
#3: Two Player Bug Slayer - 1pt each [...] BallyAlley vs friend <--- Oops. See below. [...] I'll accept the point if you want to give it to me, but Chris++ and I only ended up playing together at the same time. We were having such a blast trading-off games that we completely forgot to play a game together-- which we are going to remedy this coming week. So, yes, we played in the same county, in the same state, even in the same city and the especially in the same room, but we didn't play a vs. game. I really enjoyed this round; "Robox" is a great game. Playing it and watching McKong's score get higher and higher was great fun and his skills astound me. "Robix" will not have a permanent place on one of my 1MB 8MB carts. I love playing homebrew games that are every bit as good (sometimes better!) than classic games released back in the 80s.
ballyalley
"Robix" will not have a permanent place on one of my 1MB 8MB carts. Upon re-reading my previous posting, I see that there is a typo that changes the entire meaning of the above sentence. What I meant to say is that "Robix" will now have a permanent place on one of my 1MB 8MB carts; my typo made it sound like I may never play the game again, which couldn't be further from the thruth. In fact, I plan to play the game with infinate lives to see the whole game from start to finish.
