TI99 Database

I've started working on what I hope will become a comprehensive database of all things TI99. Currently, it's at:

http://ti99db.99er.net although I would like to eventually move it to a domain name of its own.

This started out from my own efforts to catalog my collection in my own database. So right now, the only hardware and cartridge items in it are the ones that I exported from my DB. The books listed in the 'literature' category are from Ksraul's TI bibliography.

  • The current categories: cartridges, hardware, software, and literature.
  • Visitors can search and filter.
  • Visitors can download the database in CSV format. I want to eventually add an option to download it as a PDF.
  • The database is licensed under a creative commons license that allows for non-commercial re-use. I don't want this to be 'my database'- I would like it to belong to everyone.
  • If possible, I want to eventually add the ability for users to log in and used the items in the database to catalog their own personal collection. Other than creating a mysql database to use with scripts that I was installing, I'm not that well versed in mysql and php. I ended up purchasing software that allowed me to define this database and create all of the html pages that access it.
  • Pictures and other types of files can be added to records in the database. I've added photos to many items, and I've started to add PDF scans of some cartridge manuals.

This database is still very much in the works- there are many, many more items to be added. Even the items that have been listed still need descriptions, photos, etc.

If anyone is interested in helping out, please contact me, and I give you an account as an editor. We need people to add missing items, photos, descriptions, and whatever else they can think of. I am open to suggestions- if you can think of more categories, a better way to organize things, or more fields for the items in the categories, please let me know.

Thanks,

Rich

Ciero-

I wasn't aware of your database, but I like it! I think joining forces would be a good idea, and I activated your account a couple of days ago. I also just replied to your direct message here- sorry it took a few days, but I was unable to get anything but a blank page from Atari Age. Not sure why that was, but I finally tried Fire Fox instead of Chrome, so here I am.
