Army Of 2600
Hi, Jukka, good to see you here! This is General Mike from Army Of 2600. I use Synthcarts on both regular and jr. Ataris. They work great!
jp48
Hi Mike, very nice that you're here too !! Yes, I have wanted this long time, today decided to order whole bunch, Synthcart from here, keyboards one place, the console from another (both still eBay). I am going to write own software as well, got 1.1 version files to Batari Basic !
CrazyChris
Years ago I bought a refurbished 2600 Jr. and the Synthcart didn't work. I was told that this was because homebrew games are not always thoroughly tested on all hardware revisions.
Albert
Years ago I bought a refurbished 2600 Jr. and the Synthcart didn't work. I was told that this was because homebrew games are not always thoroughly tested on all hardware revisions. The homebrews I've produced have generally worked across all hardware, although there are always cases where some games won't run on specific consoles. There are quite a few Synthcarts out there, and I've had very few reports of them not working in specific consoles. If you still have that Synthcart and it was purchased from AtariAge, I'd be glad to swap it out for you. ..Al
CrazyChris
Al, Thanks for the offer. That was over 10 years ago. I have since moved on to a six switch console and have not had any problems with the Synthcart. Chris
+SpiceWare
From this: I have an Atari 2600 Jr. and I have noticed when using the synthcart playing a tone and a beat at the same time, the tone sounds garbled? I've also noticed that when playing another game, combat, the sound effects are slightly garbled too. Whats wrong? Can I replace any chips to fix this? Thanks, Chris since Combat also had problems, the most likely explanation is the TIA in your Jr. went bad.
Albert
That's great that you dug that old message up.
+SpiceWare
Hadn't heard of a synthcart/Jr issue before so was curious and did an internet search on synthcart atari jr. This topic and his old post were in the top 10, none of the other results seemed pertinent.
jp48
Well, I am waiting my Atari jr. console + Synthcart, hopefully getting them soon, at least I can send my experience here. Console and keyboard pads are shipped, haven't heard of Synthcart yet (ordered from AtariAge).
