Greg2600
The first ever (to my knowledge) video game convention in the NY/NJ area will be held on Saturday September 19, 2015, at the Parsippany PAL (33 Baldwin Road) in NJ. It's named "A Video Game Con," and boasts a nice variety of vendors, console and arcade sections (arcade presented by Richie Knucklz), tournaments, and live musical and burlesque acts! Billy Mitchell was also announced as a guest in a TBD capacity! There's currently a Kickstarter (funded), where you can donate and get tickets very cheap as a reward. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/274246763/a-video-game-con-retro-and-modern-video-game-conve I know the organizer from NAVA events, and he's done a LOT of research and visited other conventions in preparation. Given that the closest show for us here is Too Many Games, this will certainly be a welcome addition. atarinut76
No Mike Etler I believe? He used to have a game store in Howell Nj, that's where the Nava meetings were held!!
Greg2600
Oh that Mike. Yeah that was over 10 years ago. No clue if he'd attend personally. I'd expect this con to be majority children, teens, 20 and 30 somethings.
atarinut76
So you think there's gonna be a lot of venders for buying and selling? And yes mike and those nava meetings have been some time ago!! Lol I guess DP store kinda took over those monthly meetings when they opened!!
Greg2600
I would expect something very similar to Too Many Games, though slightly smaller. Keep up with their Facebook page, and/or ask them questions directly. I'm not part of the crew, just going to attend!
