River Raid question

Is the Intellivision version of River Raid rare? I never see it on ebay or locally. I assumed it would be common and cheap. It's one of the few Intellivision games I got to play back in the day. It even made me question my 2600!

I see the 2600, 5200, Colecovision, and even Atari 8 bit carts all the time for cheap. I'd love to have a copy for my Intellivision, but I can't imagine spending too much for it considering that I have 3 other versions of the game! ?

For rarity, I'd put is as a 5 on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the most rare). There were about 4 CIB copies that sold on eBay in the last 1.5 months (I'm ignoring the rare Brazil variant produced by Digiplay). Expect to pay $55 for a CIB copy and $27 for a loose cart. The challenge with collecting River Raid is finding 2 good overlays. The original manufacturing used a paint that tends to flake off of the overlay plastic.

But Jason dumpster dives for dinner too...so unless you want to follow him around wrapped in plastic in the middle of the night I'd expect to pay more than 10 dollars. :-) Or ask him to sell you one for $10.

I just bought a CIB one here on the forums in pretty decent shape for...I wanna say $45? I can't remember now. I too felt it was a ridiculous price for River Raid, a $5 game on any other console, but thats the way it goes :) I'll have to take a look at the overlays now, I don't remember if they were good or not...
