JATO
Raiders of the Lost Ark only plays with right or player 2 port. Is there something wrong with the console or game ? It's a A1885476932 console. Game is 2659. I have tried other controllers..
CPUWIZ
3. USING THE CONTROLLERSUse both of you're Joystick Controllers with this ATARI GameProgram cartridge. Be sure the controller cables are firmlyplugged into the CONTROLLER jacks at the back of you're VideoComputer System game. Hold the Joysticks with the redcontroller buttons to you're upper left, toward the televisionscreen. (See Section 3 of you're Owner's Manual for furthur[sic] details.)STARTING THE GAMEStart the game by pushing the POWER switch to the ON position.Indy will be lowered down on a pedestal in the middle of thescreen. When Indy reaches the bottom of the pedestal, pressthe red button on the right controller. You'll immediatelyappear in an Entrance Room containing a rock and a whip. Watchout for snakes in this room - if they bite you, you're agoner!RIGHT CONTROLLERUse the Joystick on the right controller to move Indy on thescreen. He moves up, down, right, left, and diagonally in thedirection you move the Joystick. To pick yp an object, guideIndy over the object and it will automatically be picked up.Items that have been picked up will appear in the redinventory strip at the bottom of the screen (see Figure 1).You can carry a maximum of six objects; if you want to pick upan additional object and you already have six, one object mustbe dropped before a new one is picked up.The red fire button on the right controller makes use of anyobject placed in the red inventory strip. For example, if youneed to defend yourself with your revolver, you can shootbullets by pressing the red fire button on the rightcontroller. Indy must be in motion, however, for some of yourweapons - such as the revolver or the whip - to work.[Figure 1 - Inventory strip (shows selector dot on the redinventory strip)]LEFT CONTROLLERThe left controller functions as your inventory control andcan be used to select or drop objects that will help you onyour quest. Notice the small white selector dot below theobjects inside the strip - use it to select the article youwant to use. You can move the dot to select an object bymoving the Joystick to the right or left. The dot will move inthe same direction you push the Joystick. Select the desiredobject by returning the Joystick to the neutral (center)position when the dot is beneath the object. To drop anobject, move the dot beneath the object you no longer want, and press the red fire button on the controller. The objectwill disappear and return to the ORIGINAL place it was found.Don't confuse fire buttons, or you might drop an importantobject when you need it the most.
JATO
Thanks CPUWIZ , I just got the game local for $1.95 with no manual. Is there a site where I can read the game manuals ? I have just got back into Atari in the last year or so since about 85..

Lynxpro
Man, I like to think I still have vivid memories of playing 2600 games as a kid but I cannot recall using Dual Joysticks on Raiders. I do remember trying to spruce up 2600 Star Raiders by having all of my friends and I pretend to eject from the ship before it exploded by running out of my room. We'd also take turns being assigned to the Keypad Controller duties. Edited May 1, 2015 by Lynxpro
The Usotsuki
You know, I kinda wonder if Temple of Doom (a Tengen arcade game that has an Apple //e port) could be done on the 7800. *shot*
Jaynz
Could be done? Yes. Won't look as good, of course, but there's nothing about the gameplay itself that would prohibit being on the 7800 - just need a big-memory cart.
