jp48
Hi, Any recommendations for disassembler(s) for Atari 2600/6502 ? I am trying to check music instructions of few 2600 demos, which are only binary format. Now using distella, any others available ? I am only interested what data is loaded to AUDFx/AUDCx/AUDVx and which order, I write my progs with batari, so I am not good at all with assemblers. Also, noticed that someone had used Kick Assembler for one 2600 demo, anyone used it for their homebrew or other 2600 projects ? Thanks ! -jp
ZackAttack
The trapwrite command in Stella should make this easy to do. Use it on all the audio registers. I.e. trapwrite AUDF0
jp48
Thanks of the tip, checked, works well, however I am looking more "automated" method, ripping the sound registers data (at first), and writing a simple player, and perhaps at some later point, specs for some kind of general file format. distella works quite well, just thought if there are other disassemblers to test. ZackAttack
If you're comfortable with c++ you could grab the Stella source code and modify it to write out a log of what vales are stored to which audio register and also record how many cycles passed since the last register write.
jp48
That's nice idea, I need to check stella source. I am not sure where to find more demos (with music/sounds), I have checked pouet.net, but there are not that many. Well, next thing to do is audio mod to my Atari 2600 jr, it seems I need to ask advice with that too Thanks !
