I'm inclined to agree. At least with the Apple II, disks are pretty much plug-and-play. Even then, when I brought my Apple to last year's expo, I made sure to bring two copies of every game, and left instructions on the front on how to use the drives. Doing the same for the Commodore 64 would require a much bigger instruction sheet, probably with several steps saying, "Yes, very long load times are normal. Sit tight."

I have a C64 I can bring. I think it might be better to use cartridge-based games, as people aren't going to know how to load disk games. I'm not sure I'd also trust people (especially kids) to handle 5 1/4" disks..

I was looking to test my disks, not let others use them though

Getting closer! I just booked the hotel and volunteered to bring the Apple IIe and C-64 I brought last year. I know Albert mentioned maybe bringing a Commodore, but I didn't see any in the list so I went ahead and offered. At this rate I'm also going to have another metric ton of broken/dead hardware to offer at the swap meet, too!

Fuji, do you have a disk drive for the C64? I have a box full of C64 diskettes that I'd like to try to see if they work or not.

I could do that. I probably won't keep the drive as part of the display, but if we meet I'd be happy to set it up.

Cool that would work....thanks! My plans are to get there thursday afternoon to help Albert setup the AA booth.

Yeah it would just be to check out the floppies.

I'll be appearing on Friday morning, hopefully early depending on when I get the car packed and my lazy butt out of bed... not necessarily in that order. Anyway, if you're hanging around Albert on Friday maybe you can work with your disks before the show starts.

Keith has asked me to bring an Atari 800XL again as well since Albert is slated to bring "only" consoles. I figure the XEGS covers the same bases, but then the more the merrier, right?

Hey Darrell, do you have a template for those pages you made last year on each system's history? I might could carve out some time to do something similar for my machines.

Whatever is on that list doesn't really reflect reality. I do have an 800XL I can bring (and I'm bringing one to PRGE).

If we're going to have placards, it would be nice if they have a uniform appearance, and I can print them out as well as bring 8" x 10" acrylic display stands for them.

Ah, cool. I'm still happy to bring mine if you want less to pack or would like a back-up.

Oh dear, I've started something... :)

No template, I just threw them together using Pages. I've attached them in case you can use them. I can't get there until Friday night so I'm not bringing systems this year; though I'll probably bring my VCS on Saturday for the presentation.
