TI-GAMER
I have a Lantronix and sent in my RS232 to Arcadeshopper for an HDX modification. Is there any point in keeping the Lantronix anymore?
Shift838
sure there is. If you are going to call out to BBS with the TI then yes you will need it. Your RS232 card comes default with 2 ports so you can hook up both at the same time I believe.
+OLD CS1
To use both serial ports you will need something like this: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 221760072769 If the HDX mod is like CfHDX, you will need something like this, anyway, as it will use port 2. TI-GAMER
Once I get the HDX card back, I was also thinking of putting a 2nd RS232 card and changing the CRU address of it. That mod looks fairly simple to do.

Oh, and if you get one of these Y-Cables, be aware that it may be mislabeled. Mine is, the still work fine though. I also have one of those cables but never opened it and was planning to. I think I purchased it from "MDUDE" on ebay or his website years ago. I purchased quite a few things from him when his Website was up but it appears to have been down for awhile. +Schmitzi
yes, very nice colors and columns (hint hint and, as the UDS is a part that´s running fine with the TI 99, and also development seems to be going on, these would be at least some reasons for me to keep it
Mad Hatter
Hmmm, tell ya what... look at this here video, then you tell me if it's worth keeping your Lantronix! Nice. I was curious how long that logoff screen would take at 4800 baud. Guess I'll have to put up a longer one next time.

TI-GAMER
LOL You have convinced me to keep it!!! Im just excited about playing with the HDX that I figured it would replace my Lantronix. It is the UDS-10 and it still looks like new with the big ole Power Pack that comes with it.

Make your settings: BAUD : 2400 or 4800 I/F Mode : 4C Flow : 02 Port No : 23 Connect Mode : D6 To Dial type: atdt68.109.180.48,9640 Yeah, that wall-wart is as big as the UDS-10! (Photo for people that don't have one to see what we're talking about.) I take it you're enjoying the super-fast load times with the HDX?
TI-GAMER
I take it you're enjoying the super-fast load times with the HDX? I just shipped my RS232 card to Arcadeshopper last week so I dont have the HDX yet. He stated that he was a little back logged so it may take a few weeks before I will receive it. Then the Fun part starts as I have to learn how to use it. LOL

TI-GAMER
schmitzi Thanks so much! Lots of good stuff up there. The Lantronics info will help a ton and the 99er Mags are really cool as well.
+Schmitzi
yes, i recommend to flash this latest firmware, but check (ever that you have the right hardware. It may be a bit fiddly, but the best way for me was to flash it with the standard-tool coming with this setup-file (not via the web-interface, as I had many Java-issues)

Yes, BUT if he uses the same RS-232 card for his Lantronix or a modem, he'll have to tell Greg to put a toggle switch on it so he can RE-ENABLE the interrupt when necessary. Without the interrupt enabled, nothing coming in will be seen my the terminal program.
Mitkraft
I'm reading this thread and wondering (since I'm still building my TI setup), now that I see that the lantronix is just a Parallel/serial LAN adapter, would any other similar devices work? I ask because I have one of these laying around: http://www.fief.org/sysadmin/images/parallelether2.jpg
