Naylor118
Hello, I'm wondering if you could help me. I've recently bought an Atari 7800 Pal I and I can't get it to show on my TV. The Atari itself switches on, so the plug works I have an RCA cable into a SEGA branded switch box, the TV antenna into the switch box and the COAX (M) end on the switch box into the back of the TV. There is very slight interference when I move the switch on the switch box back and forth from TV to computer, but not a sign that it's about to show the Atari screen. I have no idea on what else to do. Would appreciate your educated expert opinion. Thanks.
fiddlepaddle
The sega switch box probably won't work. Try a direct connection using adapter. Make sure you have a cartridge plugged in. Try cleaning the cartridge connector with rubbing alcohol using a qtip. I'm in US, so not sure what else to try...
Naylor118
I had thought about the RCA>COAX connector and that's the only other thing I could think of.
+slx
Could be a tuner incompatibility issue. I was unable to get a picture on my Philips LCD TV using standard PAL RF out on my 7800. BTW, have you done a search for analog channels with the 7800 switched on and connected? You probably need that to allow the TV to tune to the Atari's frequency/channel.
