How does the joystick operation work with those 2 games?

This is just a converted PlayStation dance mat. I doubt more than 5 buttons work.

If it's supposed to work with joystick, games then it's most likely using the usual 5 inputs.

However, with fairly trivial electronics, the outer 4 corners/diagonals could be set up to do Up+Left, Up+Right, Down+Left, Down+Right.

That would at least make 9 of the physical "buttons" on the mat able to perform some function.

Here is a short translation. I also think it is just "simulating" a normal joystick (UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT,BUTTON at least for the VCS). Maybe it can also be used on a Genesis/Mega Drive which should have 9 button options in total.
