Atari the Jedi
Curious as a kid I used to have to trade and borrow games all the time so I knew what else was out there. Now I really don't let anyone borrow any of my games anymore. I think that's for a few reasons number one there's not too many people I know either have an Atari for example or even still play it. Second reason is that some of my games are pretty delicate and I would hate for them to be tossed around somebody's living room. My third reason is that some of the stuff is pretty expensive and hard to replace. The shipping for particular cartridge might be more than what it's worth. My fourth reason is that I'm just OCD nut. omegadot
I've borrowed / loaned games up until recently. Mostly with newer stuff as older stuff I can just emulate if I'm curious. As far as trades goes, that goes on all the time via forums but I don't know enough collectors to trade myself. I probably would though. Nutsy Doodleheimer
I use to borrow games back in the 90's. Mainly NES, Genesis, SNES, and Playstation 1. I don't anymore because I rather keep my games in mint condition and am OCD as well. I have a huge collection and all my games are pristine and have a fear someone won't return them which has happenned numerous times.
CGQuarterly
I just lent a couple of NES carts along with a spare NES to a friend. But he's a retrogamer who is my age, and I know that he'll take care of the stuff, so I don't worry about it at all. I borrow games and old gaming mags from him all the time. Seob
Back then i stopped lending games to other people, no matter who it was. I once lent my gamegear out, and got it back with a big scratch on the screen. On a other occasion i got a the game with a broken box back. Somehow people aren't carrefull with stuff if it isn't theirs.
awhite2600
I lent some Intellivision games to a buddy back in the day and never got them back. That left a bad taste in my mouth. I reconnected with him about a year ago. After catching up - I mentioned my games. He thinks they could still be in his mother's basement. He hasn't gone out of his way to look. I have a good friend that collects games. He has mentioned in the past that I could borrow games, I just haven't done so. OldSchoolRetroGamer
Neither a borrower nor a lender be - William Shakespeare, "Hamlet", Act 1 scene 3.
