Anyone have/play Disney Infinity?

...and know what the hell you're supposed to do?

My little guy has been all into Skylanders, but he got a Disney Infinity 2.0 starter pack for xmas and we're just now poking around with it. Is all you do on this game run around playing silly "toybox" games? The instructions don't tell you anything, Maybe he's (we're) looking too much for it to be like Skylanders with the arena battles and such. And the split-screen looks like absolute crap. I looked around online and didn't get much info. If anyone can point me to a site with easy to make sense of info I'd really appreciate it.

My kids spend more time in Toybox building than playing the missions. I think there is tutorials for the toybox in the game and you can download levels too.

To play the missions you need to put one of the toyset things (clear plastic) on the base before starting. If you have 2.0 you should have the Avengers one.

I can find out more info tonight. I played some of the Incredibles game from the first Disney Infinity and it was fun but I played a lot of Skylanders.

So..what exactly is the point to the toybox building? is it the videogaming equivalent of playing with Lego's or Lincoln logs (don't roll the eyes either! outdated as those are, we're all in that age group to have played with them in our youth lol!)

Yes, the missions are mostly what we want to play. Now, for clarification...the 2.0 we have is not the Avengers one. The starter kit we got included Thor, Baymax (sp?) from Big Hero 6, Stitch, Rocket Racoon, and Medira (The redhead from "Brave") The clear plastic thing you mention (I think it's a flat, six sided "disc") is of Medira. Does that maybe mean the mission(s) I can do are limited to her "universe"? Meaning they are in her world (forest I believe), and for two player I would have to use a similar character like one from her movie or something?

See how confuzzled I are? :P

Basically, yes. It's like Disney Minecraft. You can also go to the Community section and download playsets that other users have built. The playsets you can buy are like small video games in themselves, but unfortunately there aren't that many, and you can't use just any figure you want when you play them. My daughter and I have the Avengers and Spider-man playsets and we've had great fun with them, but they get old after a couple of play-throughs.

Yes it's for building, my kids prefer this over doing the missions. You set up race tracks, games or just build a town.

My kids love Lego so will move onto Lego Dimensions when it is released. The fact that it has Back to Future, Portal and Dr Who makes it even better.
