+GoldenWheels
Because....why not. I know a real 2600 woody just has a "wood" strip at the front....that was my idea originally, but as we all know, once you get going with woodgrain anything, it can be hard to stop. If you can measure, mark, and cut straight lines, you can do this if you are interested. All of 10$ invested, and that gives you more than enough vinyl to mess up the job completely once and still have enough left to do it right. And the vinyl peels right off if you get sick of it. Got the vinyl from here (place has awful vendor ratings but I missed that, my vinyl came fast and they had many cool patterns): http://www.ebay.com/itm/351218781324?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Got the logo from here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121498670292?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

SoundGammon
I'll have to get enough to do all three: 2600, 5200, & the 7800. They'd look great all together!

+GoldenWheels
Thanks for the compliments guys--I'm very happy with how it came out. I'll have to get enough to do all three: 2600, 5200, & the 7800. They'd look great all together! Oh jeez I hadn't even considered doing a 2600 jr! If you get your cuts right the first time 2 vinyl kits might be more than enough. Check out some of those other patterns too...I was thinking a nice dark burled wood might look really good on a black casing. Great way to cover up a system that's been mishandled throughout the years! Funny thing....my system is actually in good shape...the plastic I covered up was MINT....my chrome bar there and my switches....clearly not so mint. Now I want to replace the chrome too! goldenegg
If you start with the Atari 2600, I own all mainstream video game consoles and handhelds from the 2600 to current gen. The only exceptions are the 5200 and 7800, as I'm not much of a fan of either. With that said, I'd buy a 7800 in a heartbeat if they originally looked like that! I absolutely love that look! You had a great idea and executed it extremely well!
hookem
Looks great! Looks like it "should" if it was from a few years earlier. Now you just have to make a Sears Telegames 7800 with darker more luxurious woodgrain.
Rick Dangerous
Looks epic. I'd try but mine would come out sloppy looking i'm sure of it..

Arenafoot
I'd be glad to buy a batch of the vinyl and ship out of the US if people want to get together for an order. ..Al Would be even better if the pieces were pre-cut to fit the 7800, so then it would just be peel and stick. I know that's asking alot........ Shouldn't the wood color be a tad bit darker to match the wood on a 2600? More like a walnut color than that blonde oak? Don't get me wrong it still looks cool in that color too! Because....why not. Suggestion........... replace the dented chrome faceplate with a new one from Best Electronics then it would look brand new!!! Nice work!
