wyerd
I finally got round today to do the Alpha Lock/Joystick fix on my console. Excellent instructions once again on the MainByte site to follow. Mine has the General Instruments keyboard dated 12/83 so I had to solder a length of wire to the diode so it could reach the solder side of the keyboard connector. It took longer to disassemble the console than it did to perform the mod and it works just as it says on the tin! So, my current list of completed mods are:- Alpha lock/Joystick fix F18A Remove obsolete cassette port and replace with F18A VGA connector Replace vintage PSU in PEB with new AT/LPX PSU - well, I HAD to do as I accidently blow the old one! Replace PEB Fan with a new quieter FAN Replace yellow LEDs in cards with blue ones Replace FDC ROMs with 80/80/80 track versions Install a Lotharek HxC & 3 1/2" FDD Install a UDS10 for BBS/Internet access I'm toying with the Atari joystick adapter or should I do a SuperCart, but I'm not sure what benefit that would give me as I use the excellent XB27 all the time? Any suggestions that don't cost a lot! Thanks. Edited July 8, 2015 by wyerd

Well, there is the HDX modification. (You'll need to add a switch for the interrupt since you use a UDS-10) Something else to consider... instead of buying a joystick adapter you could put that money into a HOMEBREW JOYSTICK made to your own personal tastes. If you are into soldering you could also make your own PS/2 Keyboard adapter. I agree, since Gazoo came out with his awesome cartridge, I find that I'm not using my 'Super Cart' much anymore, especially now that I can get BOOT plugged into it too! As they say, different folks like and need different things. These are just 'suggestions'... but since you asked...

Omega-TI
You think so? Naw, we'll have PLENTY to do once that DDCC-1 clone becomes available. There may be additional HxC's to attach... and plenty of time spent converting all our goodies to 720K format. There are a few real neat hardware items I've thought up as well, but I'm keeping those ideas under wraps until Ksaurl can get his next couple done and released.

Hmmm. Looks interesting, very interesting. Needs further research!
