+karri
Hi, is there a way to steal one channel for sound effects while the music is playing? I would not like to sacrifice an entire channel for sound effects like car sounds, explosions, shooting. -- Karri
+karri
One solution might be to add a fifth "priority channel". If there is something to be played on the "priority channel" then the 4th channel advances as normally but does not output anything to the chips. When the 5th channel has stopped then the 4th channel continues playing. Would this by a cool extension to chipper on the Lynx?
sage
There are two ways to do that. Either you use only four channels for music and do with the forth whatever you want _or_ you do it more fancy and kind of mute the music while playing a soudn effect on the fourth channel. yes this is supported by the backend player. but its a little more complicated to set it up than for tailchaos driver. not sure, but maybe the example code is on my website, if not mail me.
