PIXeL_92
Hi all, I bought the attached Atari Lynx II. I have recapped it to fix the no sound issue, then I also noticed it had a lot of discoloured pixels a purple sort of colour. Anyone know what it could be and or how to repair it ? Thanks in advance
GadgetUK
It needs a new LCD screen!
7800fan
It's dead. LCD panel itself can't be fixed. If it develops spot like those, it's likely due to breakdown of fluid inside the glass.
sirlynxalot
Any change it could be the ribbon cable, or stuck pixels? What happens if you press them with a pencil eraser, could that massage nearby fluid into the right spots? Give it a try What have you got to lose
Andromeda Stardust
I see a potential LCD mod in that Lynx's future!
Trew
Why has no one asked about the lady's knitted top?
PIXeL_92
Just messaged McWill about a replacement LCD screen for it. In the mean time I will try and source a faulty one on eBay to harvest a screen from. Thanks for the advice

PIXeL_92
Also a quick note, if anyone wants to know what speaker to use when replacing the internal speaker use this one. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252022729836?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Great fit and nice crisp sound. Its also only £2.
Trew
OK, I'll bite... why IS there a picture of a ladies knitted top in the original post?

Trew
Maybe it's like "the dress". Some people see a white chunky knit top, others see a Lynx II with dead pixels?

But if there's holes like those in picture, the crystal inside has gone bad and cant be fixed at all.

Shawn Jefferson
I'm looking for one with a faulty screen, but otherwise working to do the modern LCD replacement on. It doesnt feel right to pull a perfectly working screen out of my Lynx II. I could have sworn I had another one, but I guess not.
+karri
If you guys have completely dead motherboards there may be a need for the cart connectors. These are not available anymore and building a cart programmer is much easier with a real connector.
