SoundGammon
I was just reading the post about the best 2-player games and someone mentioned Activisions FREEWAY, which was the idea FOR Frogger. Then I thought FROGGER would be a great 2-player at the same time game! All kinds of options like the first player to the top scores, knocking the other player's frog into traffic or into the water! Blocking the other frog and making him croak going off screen while on a log. Sorry, couldn't resist the pun!
Shawn
First player to the goal gets the point an have it a best of 5 would be awesome. Alas this would be much more than a simple "hack".
fiddlepaddle
What evidence indicates Frogger was derived from Freeway?
SoundGammon
What evidence indicates Frogger was derived from Freeway? I remember reading about it years ago. Didn't Freeway come out before Frogger?

Your right, it would to be done from the ground up! Too bad it couldn't be done with the SuperCharger/StarPath version! Anyone ever hack a SuperCharger game? AW127
Yes, Frogger for two player simultan is really fun. I know this from my Amiga. Because there exist the Croak-series, which is really a good Frogger-clone and these two games allow simultanous-playing. Look here: http://hol.abime.net/5397 http://hol.abime.net/5575 So i think, also on the Atari VCS2600 such a hack would be good (when possible)! BrianC
The GBA Frogger has a 2 player simultaneous mode. I haven't played the game with another player, but it does support single cart multiplayer.
Thomas Jentzsch
First player to the goal gets the point an have it a best of 5 would be awesome. Alas this would be much more than a simple "hack". Without looking at the code, but with a flickering frogger sprite, this might be doable quite easy. Or one could implement an player alternating mode. So they do not play against each other directly but one after the other. Then one would only need a timer and different point scoring. Crazy Climber
If you are a NES guy the Homebrew games by Kahn "Ultimate Frogger Champion" has a mode called "Battle Frogs" that does exactly what you are describing... http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.php?cPath=31&products_id=74 It is unfortunately discontinued though, so if you want one hurry and find it (Out of print NES homebrews can fetch an arm and a leg after a short time of being pulled, especially retrousb stuff)
