It looks like at 12.28min they guessed it wrong (Stargate) and it got accepted. The game is Defender right? (Or do they look similar, I could not find it 1-2-3 to compare). Also in this episode they win a TI-99/4A with TI monitor.

Stargate was released for home computers as Defender II.

mission accomplished !! (for me)

I'd like to play more, but I will have very little time until the end of the month, so I think this will be my highest score in this competition.

Anyway, I had much fun and I am glad to have enjoyed the opportunity of knowing better this game!

(The score was achived on a real TI)

All of the Parker Brothers conversions for the TI are like this. In another thread PB developer docs and notes have been posted up (they are probably now available in the WHTFTP, as well) which give some explanation for how and why they were made this way.

Where? Developer docs somewhere? Very cool.

Interested.

The developer docs from Todd Marshall who worked at JWDA (James Wickstead Design Associates) and did the Frogger conversion for Parker Brothers are here:

http://www.ataricompendium.com/archives/interviews/todd_marshall/interview_todd_marshall.html

And an interview from Steve Zedeck who programmed the Tutankham protype:

http://www.digitpress.com/library/interviews/interview_steve_zedeck.html

He mentions a consulting company in N.J. (no name) that did Popeye and possibly Q-bert.

Yes! There is a link in the section for Frogger on the TI-99/4A: http://www.ataricompendium.com/archives/documents/tech_docs/wickstead_ti994a_overview.zip

Also, near the bottom of the page is a link to Frogger prototypes. And source code!

the notes on frogger were really interesting! i like how it refers to the player as 'gamester' and at the end it says 'i won't be here on friday so if you have any questions... 'tuff' ' lol

All I get from the link is “This account has been suspended.” Any chance we can get the file posted here pls?

These are the notes I was talking about regarding the dev stuff- i think i snagged them before the servers freaked out at all the traffic maybe.

Did anyone snag the three Frogger source code files before the server dropped the site? The interview itself is available on the Wayback machine (they snagged it on the 17th of November), but the files weren't part of the grab, unfortunately. I turned the Wayback version of the page into a document file, and I can upload it here after I convert it to PDF if anyone is interested.
