Another simple fix is to click the "unfollow this topic" button and you will no longer receive any notifications from that specific forum. The "Ignore Topics" button is a third-party modification, and you have to explicitly state which forums it is visible in. Meaning, any recently added forums weren't showing this button as I hadn't gone back to update the permissions in the third-party modification. A bit annoying! Do I have to bump this thread daily to get a response from a moderator? Moderators have no power to do anything about an issue such as this, only I do.
