Announcing: Netwalk port for Atari 8-bit

On August 28, I'll be releasing my first ever (and probably only) game for the Atari 8-bit computer line. This is a port of the fairly popular and addictive Netwalk game that is available on a number of modern platforms, so I'm calling it AtariNet. I'm doing a limited cartridge release of no more than 50 carts, and I want to make them available first to anyone here who is interested. The carts are standard-issue Atari brown with custom labels, and the software is packed into a standard 16K ROM that will run on any A8, NTSC or PAL, with at least 48K RAM. AtariNet features 4 difficulty levels as well as support for keyboard, joystick, and ST mouse.

The price for this little piece of Slordom is $20/cart + any shipping needed. If you're interested in getting one, please either reply to this thread or drop me a PM and I'll put you on the list. The first 10 to reserve a cart will get their serial numbers embedded and prominently displayed in the software. I only ask that you are able to make payment before August 28 in order to guarantee your reservation, because I will be offering any remaining carts for sale at VCF Midwest next weekend.

Thanks for your support!

Thanks folks. For anyone in the US, shipping will be $6. Outside the US, just let me know where and I'll get a cost for you.

Oh, and if you happen to be going to be at VCFMW next weekend, of course we don't have to worry about shipping. :)

Well, don't build it up too much. :) It was a fun logic game to do, and it has a bit of an addictive nature, so I just hope you guys have some fun with it. Worst case, you just paid a little bit more than you might have otherwise for the parts! Below is an emulator screenshot of the hard level from a beta build. Colors are a bit subdued there, but you get the idea. It's all about completing the "circuit" by closing every open endpoint.

Looks a lot like Loops of Zen.by XXL. Except with a mouse..

Put me down for one Cartridge...

Atari Net

You are correct! I scoured the internet a couple years ago trying to verify a Netwalk port didn't exist for A8 (and didn't find one), but there you have it. At first glance there are definitely a few differences, but I'll certainly have to try that one out now...

Hello Slor

One for me please.

I'll probably meet TheMontezuma and CharlieChaplin on the 24th of October, maybe we can share postage to Europe.

Sincerely

Mathy

PS IIRC there is a second game that looks similar, it's name resembles "Loops of Zen".

There's (allegedly) Cat5Walk by New Breed Software. But it's been "Coming Soon!" for many years now...
