moycon
Always wanted to check on of those out! Seemed so high tech back in the day reading about how you could turn an Atari into a computer, don't ever recall ever seeing those peripherals ever for sale but I knew they existed. What could you do on them? Did they have programs you could type in?
Cambouis de l'Atari
I own one too, and on a true sixer, it's even more beautiful Imho, it's totally crap ! But it looks great in a collection, I'm proud of it. Here's an article I wrote about it, if you dare to read (or translate from) french : https://cambouisdelatari.wordpress.com/2014/11/06/le-spectravideo-compumate/ Always wanted to check on of those out! The display is poor as well (only 12 characters per line), text only. Forget about programming sprites or music. And the booklet doesn't even try to teach you programming... There are 2 built-in programs : drawing (on the playfield) and music, probably the most interesting part of the whole thing. Maybe it is more beautyful (I still own an Atari 2600 6switch, Atari 2600 vader and an Atari 7800) , but this version has a seperate keyboard like modern computers... Is it possible to connect the Atari 1010 recorder to the CompuMate? Unfortunataely I miss the connection-cable between CompuMate and cassette recorder. Hehe well.. hum.. yes, sure Is it possible to connect the Atari 1010 recorder to the CompuMate? Unfortunataely I miss the connection-cable between CompuMate and cassette recorder. Never had a 1010, but for what I can see, its connector is a sio like, so no, it won't work. You can use any classic tape recorder, you just need two simples 2.5 jack cables. Or easier, just connect it to a pc or tablet.
