Black screen help please

Hi wise ones,

 

I am trying to get an old darth vader working.

Im pretty new learning but have managed to troubleshoot my other consoles but this one is beating me.

 

I have black screen.

Insert cart nothing changes,

Reset switch seems to do nothing.

Power switch is working.

Every now and then it will show rolling white diagonal lines, sometimes a singular vertical white line.

 

 

 

I have checked solder all okay,

I have reseated chips,

Cleaned.

 

Any help with where else to play would be great.

have you tried another cart ? or even no cart at all ?

 

with no cart you would get various color bands ( just tried & sometimes got a black screen)

 

a dead cart (or really dirty) would give you a black screen most times

Hey thanks for reply.

Yea i tried a few known working carts. No luck

I have tried without cart and that seems to be when i get the white lines but no colour. The switch is on colour.

 

Might be using this one for spares.

Ill try pulling out chips from another vader and see if swapping out will help.
