+Philsan
On the last Retro Gamer magazine (#145) there's an article dedicated to Bruce Lee with an interesting interview with Ron J Fortier, who developed the game with an Apple II. Sometimes his memories are not clear, when he says that A8 processor ran at 0.8 MHz and C64 had 25% more CPU speed. I have a question. If you look at the game, you see four 8 pixels wide players (Bruce Lee and Sumo) + another player (ninja) made with four missiles. What happens when Bruce Lee or Sumo kick? Sprites are wider than 8 pixels. BTW, here is a brand new remix of Bruce Lee theme by LukHash: https://youtu.be/iUHewyaavys

Sprites are wider than 8 pixels. Changing the width of the player to double resolution during certain animations, it can be 16 pixels wide. This happens with the black player used for Bruce Lee, while the orange one is in normal wide, with a higher priority, so it hides part of this large pixels, for example, in the eyes, that always looks small. The same happens with the green player used for Sumo, while the black one remains in normal width. The Ninja changes it's width when it attacks with the sable... It is the fifth player as a whole, not the missiles side-by-side... just one color.

No, the resolution is not doubled and it's still only 8 pixels wide. What's doubled is the width of each pixel.
emkay
See how it goes Bruce Lee in the original version is "light brown/yellow"" .... in the C64 remake, Bruce is "light green" . People seem to mixup "martial" with "martian" ... The Video isn't dedicated to the A8 version... which is ridiculous.

Let me write that again to what I tried to say: "Changing the size of the player to double width during certain animations, it can be 16 color clocks wide." It's easy enough to argue that the C-64 version was the most popular, so no reason not to make it the focus of the video.
Rybags
The Atari version had much better sound effects. In fact, many of those sounds became practically trademarks for Datasoft and were used appropriately in other platform games of theirs. The C64 is just imitating the Atari sounds (and not doing so well) . Fair enough if they'd just started from scratch with the C64 sound effects and made them to take advantage of it's merits they might well have ended up better than the Atari ones. Not a bad remix though - I guess if you compare the orignal music the C64 probably comes in front.
