kiwilove
Here are my suggestions for possible conversion projects .... Tetris Battle Gaiden (on SNES) This is Tetris with characters that have magic powers as such. It's a new spin on the Tetris game. Pretty original I thought. Check it out on Youtube. It should be there? Super Puzzle Fighter II (on PlayStation) While it has Streetfigher II characters animated - this part of it, can be left largely out, in a conversion - and just the puzzle game part done - which should convert across alright to the A8 hardware? You are dropping blocks that form crystals with bomb pieces that can explode in combos. There are always coin-op games that have been missed out altogether? eg. Bump N Jump Ought to be a nice project for their first game (or Second) game project. It's like a simple version of Spyhunter. Rock n Rope? Wonder Boy - maybe port across the C-64 version which is done to a good standard. Harvey

How about "Hot Rod Raider" by Bill Halsall: http://a8.fandal.cz/detail.php?files_id=2008 Tales of Dragons and Cavemen is an exceptionally good game - we played it last season in the HSC S11/ R21 and I mentioned it in a recent Pro© magazine. It has NTSC issues. This highlights a slight concern that people go off developing/conveting something and there is possibly something similar already out there: I did wonder this when Stampede showed up and then I later saw Round Up from one of the Antic mags! Lady Bug Paper Boy Zookeeper Galaga Astro Fighter Street Figheter I just saw Astro Figher on Norbert's blog (not A8 ver) and remembered loving playing it on the arcade machine. Probably mentioned all these before but I'd love to see some of these space shooters on the Atari Phoenix and The End. Plus Donkey Kong II - surely with DK being such a fantastic A8 game it's a no brainer to have a new Ape based challenge Now who has a year or two free
Thorsten Günther
AMC did also publish a game very akin to Lady Bug: Bilbo. A great version of this game, IMHO. I'd like to see arcade conversions theat were never done, like Galaga (with graphics, not PETSCII - sorry Norbert), Phoenix, Mappy, Rally-X, Bosconian, Time Pilot, Amidar, Elevator Action, etc.. emkay
Wonder Boy - maybe port across the C-64 version which is done to a good standard. Games like Wonder Boy actually exclude themselves. They LOOK doable, but the A8's Hardware is exactly NOT having the needed Hardwarespecs. A "Wolfenstein 3D" is far more possible

The sprite flicker is unavoidable - I'm glad they went ahead with it. Harvey Edited September 9, 2015 by kiwilove

For Amidar we have Omidor, not sure how it compares but it seemed to be pretty good At some point a list of all the game suggested and what we have already for comparison with some observations might be neat
snicklin
How about we have conversions of all the "flagship" games from each platform? They're not always quite the finest games but they'd be interesting to see. C64: Mayhem in Monsterland (great to look at, playability questionable) Spectrum: All the Horace games Amstrad: All the Roland games. MegaDrive: Sonic (if the 2600 can do it... we could do a bit better) Nintendo: Super Mario (we've seen the WIP, but never the real deal).. In addition to those, probably Pac-Land or Pacmania would be great.

snicklin
As this game is, nobody would accept this game the way that it is on the A8. This wouldn't even get mentioned as a top game on the Atari, though if it was nice and smooth as it could be (perhaps with smaller sprites), it could do OK... I'd still like to see it on the A8 though. Does anyone have 6 months spare?

snicklin
I suspect that we could have a game like this with 6 to 8 colours at a smoother refresh rate. It has probably already been done. This is similar:
MARIO130XE
I would like to see any point 'n click adventure on the A8. Games like Indy and the last crusade or Monkey Island would be killer. Also RPGs like the Zelda games on Gameboy and NES would make my day. Any good jump n run like Mario, Sonic, Adventure Island, Giana Sisters ... I love Crownland. Finally a good jump n run game for the A8. And one missing game for sure is Carnival.Very simple graphics and sound. I have always loved the Arcade Version but unfortunately I've never found a serious A8 conversion. EDIT: One C64 project that makes me very, very very jealously. http://www.knights-of-bytes.com/sams-journey Edited September 10, 2015 by MARIO130XE

José Pereira
Why that you always say GR.7 for all platforms or arcade or similar when, an in the case of that game it can be done in charmode GR.12? For you that are from last year saying that was RGB that should had won that year ABBUC Software Contest that doesn't indeed make sense. It doesn't even need the RGB PF2/PF3 DLIs: our guy the same using two players multicolour and the other two players for two enemys with overlays exactly like was done on RGB. Only need is a redesign of those uggly sprites and gfxs but it would still be need to have it in your gfxs Mode. Your gfxs mode, thats right and why I am always calling it "Emkay mode" . It seems that there aren't more gfxs modes on A8 for you other than GR.7 and you're always saying that A8 is for 3D and in these ones same mode and/or probably GTIA ones... P.s.- I am always saying to myself: "You will not answer to Emkay" and constantly repeating it on my head but why? Why? Sometimes I just can't be quiet!... Come on Emkay, what that game has all that hard and outstanding that need to have more c.p.u./cycles and that any 8bit machine can't do it ? Oh my God!... No one was talking about "Gr. 7" , as the game already uses "Charmode" movement. The problem is to have the sneaky details of different colours , and , what you name "uggly sprites" is what the A8 has a hard deal to do . C64 has lower restrictions there, as with C64 games you have to deal with 9 and up to 11 colours, while the CPC has real 16 colours in use. José Pereira
O.K. you said 160x200, but still is your fault because everytime you post 160x, I see 100 next, this time it wasn't. You're always saying it ... P.s.- Hey and I don't like much beer, one or two in months, wasn't never a drink I liked and sometimes just because I'm with others that are drinking it but on the 2nd I am asking for something to eat. I prefer wine still with food and coffe with brandy after.
