I mean, what kinda updates do they need?

The additional cores could use some work. With the Nt Mini in limbo I dont think they will ever be revisted. With the master system core being used we may see some updates there. Fm audio will likely remain a close approximation rather than a 100% reproduction.

I'm kinda sad we didn't see cartridge adapters or additional controller options on the Nt Mini.

I still can not connect to the website. This is madness. MADNESS!

It's up and running fine. Try flushing your DNS cache, and/or add these lines to your HOSTS file.

It's exactly what i had to do when it refused to work for me earlier.

Well if you are willing to give up 32X support you'll technically get less input lag with the Mega SG.

...and presumably a flawless digital image that never existed as analog. :)

Since the DAC seems to have been confirmed, I now have to wonder if you can use that with a 32X for analog output, at least. Very curious!

Has there been any announcement about a DAC yet? I really hope that hasn't turned to vaporware.

Namdor seems to have caught this from Chris Taber (Analogue) somewhere (Twitter?):

Taber quotes:

Bluetooth controller option-

DAC-

When asked what’s happened to this thing, Taber said, “It’s been done. It’s like 99.9 percent done and has been for like six months. We just didn’t have the time to focus on it. We had a small window of time to be able to focus on something else before we needed to get on Mega SG to be able to stick to our development schedule, and we even pushed the envelope a couple of weeks out and we just couldn’t spend another fucking day on it. We had to drop it. So it’s basically done, ready to be produced. We even have all the parts for it and everything, we just have to pull the trigger on it. So right when we get through these last little details with Mega SG, that’s the first thing on the list.

So, now that we know what Analogue and Kevtris has been up to, let's start a one-year long rampant speculation/debate about the next release as well as what it will be named. I'm gonna go with the "Turbo Nc" as the next release.

That would be nice. I just don't know if Analogue would produce a dedicated TG-16/PC Engine device. Maybe Kevtris will get his wish and the next thing will be a multi-purpose Zimba 3000 style device? Here's to hoping something with an FPGA that handles hucards comes out one of these days.

Otherwise I'm guessing 4K versions of the NT Mini/Super NT/Mega SG are next.

Hey Kev!

Since the Mega is coming out any new updates coming to the NT mini or Super Nt coming?

Sorry 'bout that. I have been working non-stop on the mega sg since earlier this year. I am doing 12 hour days, 7 days a week. There's only one of me so unfortunately so I haven't had a chance to go back and do anything on the those yet. I still want to port the intv core to the nt mini and do some other fixes as well but it will be awhile yet.

Good answer! [emoji6]

I got charged about $40 last time (East coast) but it looks like people who are closer can get under $29.

I’m still not satisfied with their response regarding the unexpected Foreign Transaction Fee that no US customer could possibly anticipate. It seems like they just ignored the problem.

US card from a US bank to a US company with no warning about a Causeway Bay (Hong Kong) payment processor.

If anyone sees any kind of warning about this when preordering, please let me know. There was nothing when I preordered my Super Nt until I was looking at my statements and found a rude surprise.

CZroe, your credit card sucks. I order from places in China like Aliexpress all the time using my Chase Slate card. If it's in USD there is no "foreign transaction fee" ever. If I use a foreign currency like pounds, euros, japanese yen, canadian dollars, the fee is less than 3%.

Right. He commented on the feasibility of doing it in FPGA and openly said it wasn’t going to happen... but that still means they (Kevtris and Analogue) said something about it. Saying it isn’t feasible for an FPGA Genesis clone is still saying something about it. By correcting that tiny little part I’m able to bring it up in support of everything else you said.

They said it works with the original Sega CD. They never implied that Mega Sg had an FPGA Sega CD core. In fact, they did quite the opposite by focusing on the connector for a real Sega CD / Mega CD in the tweet where they said it was fully Sega CD / Mega CD compatible.

The creator did openly comment on the feasibility of a Sega CD FPGA core and what he said supports the notion that the Mega Sg does not include an FPGA Sega CD, nor will any jailbreak.

Exactly. It runs the add-on hardware, but can't emulate it. Just like the Super NT can't run Super FX and SA-1 ROMs. He basically said it isn't feasible to create a "32x on top of sega genesis on top of sega cd" type scenario. So you guys with pie in the sky dreams of running isos off the sd card using jsilbreak firmware will be sadly disappointed.

I like you Czroe. Been fun bantering over whether the next system would be snk or sega based. I knew in my heart of hearts a Sega clone was the next logical step... ;-)

Just noticed that Analogue dropped the price of the Black Nt mini by $50 (still sold out, of course) to match the price of the newly labeled Classic silver version.

I too noticed that they referred to it as "classic" when I was pre-ordering my Mega Sg earlier. I hadn't noticed the price though. There may be hope for another batch yet....

If you have the time, I'd like to clarify a couple things.

I would assume you baked fm sound into the core, and this option could be toggled by a menu setting. I played a lot of Sega Master System games on my Everdrive MD (older version) though I do have a modest collection of sns carts.

I would like to know if we boot the SMS game through a Genesis flash cart, is it possible to enable fm sound? What about 3rd party pin adapters like Powerbase Mini? (Though that would be redundant).
