Game Tees

I'm thinking of making some tees that represent the old Atari Arcade games and 2600 games

the art will be taken directly from cabinets and game box art and re-purposed...

I will post some pics here when I have some mocks

my question is. would anyone be interested in purchasing or do you all think its just not a good idea.

There are a gamut of tees out there but I don't like any of them.

I have the same problem, I don't like any of the current ones out there. Please start with a really comfortable material. My current favorites for feel are the Target tees for Green Lantern and Captain America. The one they did for Atari is heavier and I rarely wear it because it isn't as soft and shrinks faster when washed. Good luck.

I think this is the wrong forum for this type of feeler post. Not sure which sub-forum would be right though.

Personally very picky about the design. I'd say 20 to 1 that I won't like it. It's rare anyone does anything interesting. And yes, to good quality shirts.

Things I vote against:

pocket designs- especially without pockets

your company's name on the shirt- especially on the back between the shoulder blades

explanations like "ATARI 2600" or "CLASSIC GAME" or "RETRO"

white T-shirts- prefer colors other than black

overly retro attempting designs, unless they look authentic

websites on the T-shirt

knock off game designs trying to be clever, that aren't very clever

slogans (like "go retro or go home"- hahaha)

Being a connoisseur of T-shirts, I am very particular, as you can see. Of course most people are not so particular.

And it's a questionable move to take artwork that you don't have the rights to, but no more wrong for you than the thousands of others doing that.

So here are some mocks of where I am heading.

not sure if I will keep ANY of these designs...I literally threw them together on my lunch...so the final mocks that I will post for orders (that will show what the real final product will look like) will probably be much better.

They are all taken from Ads, Flyers, Box art or the cabinet art...more variations coming

I'd love to get the rights to the art...but sadly there is NO one to contact that owns them.

so....i'll just have to do it the way everyone else does.

i'm not doing this for profit either, the tees would be sold at cost. Its just a thing for collectors and fans

I'd be interested. I don't know which material is the "right" one, but just WAY TOO MANY t-shirts I've bought shrink after the first wash, usually to the point where I don't like the fit after the first wearing (sorry for that awkward sentence)... and I wear them slightly big to begin with, then end up fitting oddly.

Anyway, I'd give them a shot, regardless.

Working on

Missile Command

Gravitar

Tempest

Adventure

Yars Revenge

and a few pinball ones at the moment

I have about 20 designs that I want to do

the ALL over prints will use a Vapor tee. I've used them in the past, they are solid tees that breathe really well and are super soft...almost like silk

the normal prints will only be American Apparel tees this one to be exact.

Soft Jersey cotton.

The image on the full prints will be done using a photo imaging technique. I dunno the super technical details of it but I've used it before to make this tee (see attachment)

the tees they print on are like a silk fabric but they breathe really nicely..so even on super hot days you are very comfortable as air gets to your body with ease.

they also last a LOOOONG time from washes. I've had one of these tees attached here in this screenshot...and it still looks very bright and clear.

the shirts that are NOT full print (all over the tee) like the Millipede flyer tees for example...use standard screen printing so its just like a tour shirt you'd get at a concert or swag you'd get from E3.
