Unreleased 7800 Games?

How about posting a list of games they're talking about? :)

Unfortunately, there isn't a list and no specific titles stated.

It breaks down pretty much this way:

48:40 - Starts mentioning having a 7800.
49:10 - Mentioned "some" games.
49:25 - Needs to check games.
49:40 - [Atari] never released a "whole bunch" of them.
50:40 - Not sure if they were saved to an Atari ST.
That's about it.
Right now, it is just generalities of some games and states a "whole bunch" of never released ones, that (hopefully) might lead to something; however, they could also be games, later and earlier in development, that have already been discovered and released.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see if anything develops from it.

Well, we'll see if his memory is correct and whether he still has the files. He claims he never got rid of them, he just isn't sure exactly what system he put them on -- his Amiga or ST.

If you want to ask questions, ask him directly. He gives his twitter account in the same last 5 minutes of the interview too. I suppose the more interest he gets, the better the chance he'll look into it sooner.

Toki was already found, right guys?

I would love to how Electro Cop would have turned

out on the 7800. Its a show piece on the Lynx.

Maybe they are hoping for a completed NTSC version of Toki to be found.

I second the call for Electro Cop. Does anyone know if they planned to use a POKEY audio chip in that one? One would've hoped so considering the amount of detail that went into the graphics design.

I'm also hoping for a completed version of Paperboy that might've made its way back to Atari Corp since the programmer hasn't given a status update on finding the game on his ST discs from last year…or was it earlier this year?

It would be the wrong time period but one can always hold out for someone discovering 5200 and 7800 Elevator Action.

What I would give to discover unknown ports of Black Widow for the 7800 [and 5200]. And then there's the source code for A8/5200 Cloak & Dagger…or 2600 Ballblazer.

So does anyone know if or when there is a follow up planned with this Glenn fellow about the 7800 games he has?

I sent him a message on Twitter and never heard back. Even if he made a mistake and they were actually unreleased A8/5200 titles, that would also be incredibly cool.

How have ya been? Have not seen ya around in awhile.

Hey there!

Yeah, I'm still around, although I lurk a little less frequently than I used to. Awhile back, I decided to dedicate a bit more of my free time on a few other hobbies that needed some jump-starting (a few non-programming projects that had been delayed for years), and those are going pretty well. As I get older, it sucks to realize that you only have a finite amount of free time, and you're only getting older. So, I'm trying to work on distributing my free time a little better and to knock out some important things while I can. While "Get Lost" isn't complete, it's definitely playable, which makes me proud. I'd love to get back to "Get Lost" at some point, but the way that has happened in the past is that I usually get a vibe that I need to spend time on a small Atari project, and then it usually just sort of snowballs into something. My next step on Get Lost would likely be music-- I'd probably need to find some Pokey emulation software that works in a browser or a mac. But, that's probably a bit down the road.

I still bust out my 7800 on occasion. In fact, I just played "Super Circus Atariage" a few weeks ago when somebody stopped by and checked out my collection. It's still one of my favorite homebrews. We should have transitioned into some Ballblazer, but instead ended up getting nostalgic for the 2600 and played some Blueprint and Lost Luggage. Still a good time. It's kinda fun to take someone back to the past.

I'll still poke in here on Atariage from time to time, and I am happy to report that I'm still around. :)
